Istanbul Fisch Grill — Restaurant in Frankfurt

Excellent fish restaurant. Have had some of the best meals in Frankfurt here.

Come here for a good meal that is absolutely value for money. Staff is very efficient (will only take orders, bring them to your table and clear), however cannot speak English (speaks good German and we assume Turkish and Arabic).

Food is delicious, prices are very good value for the quality of food you'll get.

Fish soup is excellent, very very highly recommended, and the seafood is done very well. I was impressed by their squid, as it was cooked very well, still very tender and soft. Dorade was also done well and the salmon was excellent.

Rice is also very, very well done, very flavorful and cooked well (and this is coming from an Asian!).

Service is adequate, especially if you cannot speak German or Turkish/Arabic. Pointing or ordering by the numbers gets everything across. However, we've seen and heard the staff speaking very friendly to some German and especially Turkish/Arabic guests, so your experience may vary.

Overall, don't expect too friendly service, but the excellent food and value for money eclipses that greatly.

We went to this restaurant, since we were craving for some seafood. We ordered the 12. Calamares Ringe and the 20. Istanbul Teller.

First of all the salad sauce was delicious, but you can substract some points for it containing to much vinegar, which made it a bit too sour(?). If you ate it with the bread, which was also provided for free, it was totally fine, but it could be too much to eat on its own.

The main dishes were also not disappointing. The squid fries tasted very fresh and were still piping hot, since they came directly from the deep fryer. It's not one of those squid fries, which are soft cause of the partial flour. They were also seasoned very generously, which made them a lottle bit salty.

The Istanbul plate contained shrimps and also squid in a sauce containing a large amount of garlic and olive oil. The sauce was nice, but for some people it could be difficult to eat, since it is very oily, which made me drink a lot to neutralize it a bit. I recommend you put some bread beside from the salad, to enjoy it with this dish.

All in all a good place to eat some good seafood near the main train station...

My boyfriend and I are on an European vacation from USA and today (May 8, 2019) is our first day in Frankfurt. We’ve been walking around searching for somewhere to eat and we stumbled on to the Istanbul Fisch Grill by accident and we were not disappointed. My boyfriend had the salmon and I had shrimps which served with a delicious garden salad and round potatoes. I noticed someone ordered soup and I asked what kind of soup and if I could taste it?
