Update to 5 Stars. Returned and we ordered 170 and 172 (original Thai). Food tastes excellent, serive is friendly as always, this time we sit inside and the atmosphere is really on point. I recommend to order food from original Thai list, they're super delicious and authentic. Outside that list is kinda hit or miss.
Old review: Excelent service, excelent location and a little pricy. Food is kinda hit or miss, but that was quite understandable since they have a super wide selection of dishes. I ordered the original dish Koh-Moo-Yang (grilled pork neck with chili fish sauce , served with sticky rice) and it was delicious. The pork is tender and well-marinated. Fish sauce is clearly housemade and flavorful. It's a bit stinky but it's the good kind of stink, the smell you would expect from a good fish sauce. I just wish there was more sticky rice. It runs out too quickly when being served with marinated pork and fish sauce. At the end I had a bunch of pork left and the sauce so it was quite a bit too flavorful to eat without rice. But overall it's a good dish. My wife ordered Guey-Tuau-Tom-Yam-Gung mit Schwein (rice noodle soup with pork) and claimed everything was okay but the pork. The pork was dry and bland, not anything nearly tender or flavorful as the pork in my dish. It's like they just put the cheapest kind of pork from the supermarket in the bowl. So that was a bit disappointing. Besides that, the Thai ice tea was good, maybe the best we have tried comparing to different Thai restaurants nearby. They don't cheap out on the ingredients so the flavor was strong, ice is shredded as super thin layer so it's enough to keep the drink ice-cooled but not ruin the flavor. I definitely recommend this drink.
Overall this place is a very good Thai restaurant in the center of Frankfurt with a wide selection of dishes. Just expect the price to be a little pricy and maybe stick to the original dishes and you would have...
Read moreOne of the best Thai restaurants in Frankfurt. The wok specialities and duck salad are the best. The curries are good but they are a toned down version of the Thai version adapted to German taste buds, however they are more than happy to cook them Thai style by special request (this is how they cook it for their own staff). I recommend the Thai ice tea, great in the summer. As with many Thai restaurants in Germany, you may not get the full experience from a single spontaneous visit but the perspective of someone who uses Thai restaurants every week I can genuinely say their experience in dealing with a variety of different customers is unrivaled in Frankfurt. This is a favorite destination for Messe customers but if you are looking for a specific taste chances are they can create it for you. Their staff are very accommodating and friendly. During Messe it can get quite full and service may struggle a little bit. I can see why one user could have had a bad experience here once on a bad day but overall their staff are lovely. I do not however understand his one star review especially since he qualifies himself as a regular ("Stammkunde"). He should know better than to discredit the restaurant because of one bad experience...BTW the toilets are in the basement, so being sitted close to the toilets is an exaggeration. The comment on this being typical for Thailand is racist at best. Also note that reviews older than 1-2 years ago do not reflect current staff as there has been...
Read moreIt was my first time in a Thai restaurant. We ordered two main courses and a salad. The fried chicken was super delicious and crunchy—definitely a must-try. However, the fish and the salad were difficult to eat due to the spiciness. Even though the waiter had already mentioned this, we still ordered them. If they say it's very spicy, believe them because it was indeed very spicy, and I relied on the iced teas (also very tasty) to cool down. While the dishes might be perfect for someone who enjoys spicy food, I found them too overwhelming. Additionally, the fish was challenging to eat as it came with a bubbling liquid due to a small flame underneath, and we were concerned it might spill over.
Despite this, the restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere, with nice interior design. The staff were very friendly, and the service was excellent.
In conclusion, Koh Samui deserves a chance for its non-spicy dishes. My personal dislike for spicy food does not reflect the quality of...
