L'Osteria Frankfurt Hanauer Landstrasse — Restaurant in Frankfurt

This is a typical, designer like copy of an Italian restaurant with interior like in American restaurants seating with a huge bar. From the marketing side it is good done. However the story in reality is completely different...

I came inside on a busy week day in the evening after a really hard day at work with my work colleagues and was very hungry.

Since I used to work prior as a manager in hospitality industry for almost twenty years I expect maybe more added value than a regular customer I tend not to over exaggerate but this time the bad story about the overall experience was undeniable.

The waiter was nice but as he was there to collect the orders we ordered beer and wine and after the dishes I asked about as I assumed a pasta dish with zucchini and scampi. I asked him what kind of pasta is that and he told me very unclear that is like a pasta so I checked the menu after he brought me the dish where it also wrote Spaghetti zucchini. That what I got were stripes of zucchini with some crabs inside.

As we waited for the food drinks came to our dish after my colleague got his ordered pizza and I waited for my dish approximately half an hour later. So that means you came into a restaurant you order dish and drinks and first your colleague gets a pizza then after 20 minutes come the drinks and while I watch him finish eating his pizza I get my dish which was a total disappointment.

I ordered also a small bottle of sparkling mineral water and got the bottle without the glass even after reminding the other waitress to bring me one.

The staff there looks nice, walks nice, listens nice but the performance is under the minimum.

The dishes are generic and average nothing special to mention, wine here is pretty expensive compared to the quality of it.

I went to L'osteria Frankfurt Ostend based on the positive reviews it received. I am a stickler for quality service and cuisine and while this was just to go and order to take-away, the experience was wonderful. From the entrance the Maitre d' directed me to the bar at the rear of the restaurant to sit and place my order with the bartender. I proceeded and a full list of both dishes and beverages on a two-sided laminated menu was conveniently at the high-stool that I sat at. The bar was clean, well presented (in-picture) and within seconds the bartender attended to me with pleasant Italian greeting and asked how he could assist. I had already researched the restaurant before arriving and indicated I would be having the Zoodle's Gamberetti (in-picture) for take-away. I asked for his opinion of the dish having never tried it myself, and he enthusiastically supported it as a good choice. He quite efficiently rang up the order, collected payment and informed me it will be 10-15 minutes and enquired if I wanted anything else. It felt like after just around 10 minutes (as i didn't time this one as i usually do as the ambiance of the restaurant was 👌), the bartender came around the bar and presented me my prepared bag with meal inside (Note: The bag, box for the meal and utensils were all environment friendly (in-picture)). The bartender then wished me an enthusiastic 'Buon Appetito' and the best for the rest of the evening. (Note: all this while it is 2G+ for sitting inside for gastronomy in Frankfurt and while I had my FFP2 mask on, some other restaurants still request you to wait outside while your take-away order is being prepared if they have not otherwise verified that you are boosted). PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE, Worst experience ever!!!!!!!

I placed an order and payed with my credit card at 10:40 to take away my order at 12:00(30minutes after restaurant open time) through Losteria app. and the order is well accepted

However, when I arrived the restaurant at 12:00, my order was not prepared at all. The manager asked me to wait 5 minutes and then they barely begin to cook my order.

I was not very happy but I have waited 20 more minutes with a hope that my food will be prepared soon because my colleagues were waiting for lunch.

However, after 20 minutes, they handed me one salad bag and said "here is your order to take away". I was very upset because I placed an order for 4 different menus including pastas and pizza.

I asked to the manager for a full refund and cancelling the order because I do not have time to waste anymore but the manager said they cannot cancel the order and refund it even though food is not prepared on promised time(even 20 minutes later)

They took my money and did not provide food for the money.(but the app says my food is delivered, LOL) I think this is a new type of scum or fraud. I just walked away without food and refund

It was extremely unpleasant experience and I will never visit again.
