We had a wonderful experience at Sorriso, enjoying a total of six courses. If I could graph the experience, it would start low and rise steadily to the top. Unfortunately, the amuse-bouches were a bit underwhelming for both of us—nothing particularly memorable. The bread was served with homemade butter, but the butter was too cold to spread easily, which wasn’t the best start.

However, things took a turn for the better with the first course. The presentation of the beet dish was stunning—a true piece of art. Unfortunately, the flavor didn’t quite deliver, and the dish felt a bit too cold, as though it hadn’t reached the right serving temperature.

From that point onward, though, everything was absolutely fantastic. Each dish hit the mark with incredible flavors and thoughtful pairings. The wines, sourced from German and Austrian heritage, were a delight. A smoky cocktail included in the wine pairing added a unique and entertaining twist. Even the unexpected inclusion of ice in one of the courses was a pleasant surprise.

The presentation was magnificent throughout, with standout dishes like the chestnut soup, beautifully detailed and bursting with flavor. The tuna served with caviar was another highlight—something I’d been looking forward to for a long time, and it didn’t disappoint.

Sorriso is undoubtedly a great place to dine. While there were some minor details that could be improved, they didn’t take away from the overall joy of the experience. With the level of craftmanship and labor put in the dishes, i highly recommend...

The only dining experience in Germany I wished I wouldn't have booked & I could get my money back. From the moment we walked into the restaurant there was an unwelcome reception. Our server practically threw our bread service on the table and said "here". He barely spoke to us, and yes he spoke English. I'd like to say/think that the rude server (an older man) wasn't acting that way because we were American; however, he was very cordial with other guests who were German. The food wasn't much better than the service. Our pasta dishes were so undercooked, they couldn't be considered al dente, but raw pasta! Due to our server's lack of warmth, I was fearful as to the reaction I would get should I say anything, so I did not. The one highlight of the meal was our appetizer - beef carpaccio - very tasty. I would not recommend this establishment for a nice dinner out, particularly to travelers. It was an expensive meal that...

This was a fantastic dinner for us, the final farewell meal of a 3.5 week trip to Europe. My wife is strict vegan; I am not. The best thing about the meal was that the vegan and non-vegan menus were at parity - the vegan courses had the same visual beauty and taste complexity as the non-vegan. So often restaurants short-change the vegan courses, which was not the case here. I won't bother to comment on individual courses since my understanding is that they change often - some were very good, others were excellent. There were no "misses". Due to our flight schedule I opted for a non-alcoholic beverage pairing, which was creative and include educational narrative. We'll definitely return.

The food and the chef’s technique are undoubtedly excellent—every dish was crafted with precision and showcased remarkable skill. However, the overall experience fell short. The atmosphere and music felt mismatched, which detracted from the dining experience. At this price point, where other fine dining establishments deliver a cohesive experience that engages all the senses—taste, sight, sound, and ambiance—this restaurant focuses solely on the food. While that’s commendable, it’s not enough. To truly compete in this category, they should consider investing in the exterior and atmosphere to match the level of the cuisine.
