This is the usual place I go to when craving for cinnamon rolls. I first got to know them a few years back in their Oeder Weg shop when I was quickly attracted by their wide range of choices of cinnamon rolls with different flavour though I finally settled with the classic cinnamon flavour. I was happy to see them opened another outlet at Schweizer Strasse as it is closer to where I stay. Thus I come here for my cinnamon rolls instead. I am not a big friend if German bread which they are popular for as well, so I can't comment on that. I just want to share some experience of my recent visit. I encountered something, though small, that negatively affected my enjoyment. First, the staff had missed my order of a small cappuccino. Luckily I chased soon after I saw them not making any. Second, some of the tables were not kept clean. There were bread crumbs on them. I understand it is a self-service place and many people come to buy breads and won't sit down to eat but I think certain cleanliness standards should be maintained and the tables should be cleaned occasionally at least. Third, I found there were stains on some spoons and forks which obviously affected my apitete. Four, one of their staff from the open kitchen walked by and I saw his shoes and pants had a lot of flour stains that were not a nice picture to look at. Lastly, the cinnamon roll I had seemed to be off in terms of quantity of cinnamon in the roll. It tastes very weak compared with what I had in the past. Not sure they adjusted their recipe or it was just a one-off case. Maybe I am a bit too demanding concerning hygiene standards and asking too much. But looking around Schweizer Platz, they do have quite a few strong competitors. It seems they have done a good job to build their brand and received good reviews. I hope they can maintain what they have accomplished so that I can have options for my favourite...
Read moreThis place has the worst morning service ever. The bread is better than the nearey Eifler (it better be, at those crazy prices), but the staff, particularly a young dark–haired gloomy lady, it beyond unprofessional, while at Eifler they are swift and corteous. We just need swift and corteous staff, is this too much to ask? They let you wait for ages in the morning while one server pretends to work doing fake checks of drawers, one deals only with coffee although the one person asking for a coffee has already being served, and let just one server at the bread line (with ~10 people waiting). This is either a power grab (they make you wait because they are pissed at something in their lives) or very bad management. In fact, there does not appear to be a manager at all, at least in the morning. Does the manager sleep on? Today it was the best ever: I was told the shop was not serving although it was open and it was 07:15, that is 15 mins past their opening time. The usual gloomy dar-haired lady told me that they were behind with their preparation. It could happen, but then you keep the door closed and you do not send a client away when the bloody bread is already shelved, because you have to shelve some other stuff. I think they opened anyway so not to get reprimended and put the shop's inefficiency on the shoulders of clients. Very pissed with the...
Read moreI have been here a couple times to try out some of their products. They have some tasty cinnamon rolls with different flavors and also vegan options, which is pretty cool. But I wouldn’t say that they are outstanding. The regular rolls and the bread are nothing special but pricey. Moreover, I had came here several times and they were sold out of the product I wanted, which is disappointing, if you have to wait in line a couple minutes to get into the store. I wouldn’t recommend sitting here, since...
