Pho - 1986 — Restaurant in Freiburg im Breisgau

Tried this restaurant during my holiday in Freiburg. Unfortunately, this was a disappointing experience. The idea was to order the vegetarian soup. Inquiry about the broth revealed that it was made from meat. Thoughtfully opted for the vegetarian spring rolls. My companian opted for the chicken with vegetables.

Within 10 minutes the food came out of the kitchen. The food had no taste for either me or my travelcompanion. the spring roll was covered in oil and indefinable. My travelcompanion's crispy chicken swam in the broth and tasted like rubber. After taking 5 bites each and paying our drink, we paid €33 and left. You can only pay in cash at the restaurant. You will only find thid out when you try to pay. I would not recommend this...

Very mediorcre food. Nothing special. We ordered the wantan and pho. Both were not good. The pho broth was meh and I think they use soup powder to flavour it so, its salty and not as brothy. I got the chicken pho and my friend the tofu pho. We discovered that the broth in pho is actually made with beef. So, if you are a vegetarian/vegan please ask before ordering. In the middle of our meal, we asked them about the broth and as one of us don't eat beef, the response was that in a Asian restaurant you should have asked first. Felt like the service was as bland...

Lovely and cozy place to eat although not very spacious. The food was really good. I definitely recommend this place if you like Vietnamese cuisine.

P.s, I went back there the next day and had the peanut sauce with rice and duck, it was very delicious and the food quantity matches the quality too.
