We had a fish dish and a mushroom dish. I'd lamented to my wife just a month earlier - you get plenty of nice tasty vegetarian meals but you don't really get fine dining at the same level as meat/fish dishes.

Well, reader, I stand corrected.

The mushrooms in white wine sauce were just perfect - so many delicate and surprising flavours. You know when you have a meal with a properly unique set of ingredients that really synergise together.

The service was good and we sat outside on the charming street with wisteria over our heads.

We ordered a Schnitzel which was served to us a few minutes later with just a few fried potatoes, with no effort at presentation. We noticed a big difference between the dishes we received and the pictures of the dishes shared by other customers via the comments. And we have the unpleasant impression that this is because you practice a different treatment for tourists. The most obvious example is the Appelstruddel, which was served to us raw (without any impalpable sugar or any decoration on the plate - the opposite of what can be seen on Cedric Rychen's photo from May 2022). Our family had a very pleasant dinner on a Saturday evening.

The waiter and waitress were very friendly and accommodating. We were initially inside but when a table outside became available, they allowed us to move.

The food was very well prepared and especially the salad with semsame chicken was delicious, juicy and soft.

The highlight of our experience was with lost and found: we forgot our (quite expensive digital mirrorless) camera with lots of vacation pictures on a chair outside and only realized a day later; the waiter had found it and when we contacted the restaurant, they immediately sent it to us via DHL.
