My mother and I stayed here in a double room (room number 2) which had two beds, a sofa, a table, a bathroom, a closet, and still plenty of space to move. It was a really well-kept space that overlooked the patio seating for their restaurant outside. (And, by the way, the restaurant has wonderful food and very fair portions for the price.) Our room was quite quiet once the restaurant closed around 10pm daily, but up until that time of night we could hear wine glasses clinking and people chatting from our room. ||||Their location was wonderful, right in the center of town! It was a 5-minute walk (or less) to the Munster, many museums, Schlossberg, and many other places in town. There's also a Tram right around the corner that will take you directly to/from the Hauptbahnhof (main train station) for 2.20 Euros one-way. ||||Their daily breakfast buffet (included in the room rate) was good, with the standard German items of bread, sliced meats, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, juice, and something sweet (cakes while we were there). Unlike most other buffets we've eaten at here in Germany, though, this one didn't start until 8am.||||I had some trouble with the WiFI code that they provided me, and once I brought it to their attention they gave me an alternate WiFi code which got me access to select web pages (like google and wikipedia) but seemed to block many others (like trip advisor and the web page for KD-Rhine, and other pages for businesses in Germany). While this was better than having no WiFi at all, it was a bit frustrating to me to be blocked from accessing web sites that would have been useful for planning later stops on our trip.||||All in all, I think this place was a great home away from home, and I would definitely...

Read moreThis was a great find. It was the most spacious room of our trip in Germany so far. Our room was above the cafe, overlooking the canal. We had a couch, table and chairs, big bed and room to move. The decor was nice too. ||It was not hard to find the hotel, but we were a little confused at first about who to talk to in the cafe about the room. But, we just took a seat, ordered a glass of wine, and then asked and that took care of that!||The food was good at the cafe, the people were nice and friendly, and the location is excellent.||I read a couple reviews about the noise level, and I have to say it did not bother us. But with that said, we stay out late walking around, at home we sleep with the windows open (as we do traveling) and I am just one of those people who goes full speed until I stop, then I just sleep. Pretty much anywhere, any time, through anything.||I have noticed, however, the cafe crowds in Europe, in general, are a lot less noisy that in the US.||Well, we really enjoyed staying here. We'd return.||Part of the fun was trying to say "Smickelsmeedy. Sichelmeedy. Sichelschmiede!"||||We stayed June of 2011 - late review, I know, but catching up on...
