Peaches Cocktailbar — Restaurant in Garmisch-Partenkirchen

Unfortunately, my first visit to Peaches will also be my last. While I understand and fully respect the rules of any establishment, the way those rules are communicated matters — and sadly, the bouncer at Peaches completely lacked professionalism and courtesy.

Upon entry, I had a water bottle with me, which I was told wasn’t allowed. No issue there — rules are rules. A friend of mine, who previously worked at Peaches, attempted to clarify the situation but was immediately met with unnecessary rudeness. The bouncer dismissed her by telling her to “be quiet and listen more,” a degrading and completely disrespectful remark, especially coming from someone meant to represent the face of the establishment.

Witnessing that, I quietly told my friend that I wouldn’t return after such a display of arrogance and disrespect — especially after living in Garmisch for four years. The bouncer overheard my comment and, instead of diffusing the situation, chose to loudly tell me to leave, seemingly in an attempt to embarrass me in front of others. It was unprofessional, unnecessary, and a poor reflection of customer care.

Though my friend insisted I stay and we eventually went in, the damage to my impression of Peaches had already been done. A place’s atmosphere isn’t just built by its décor or drinks — it’s built by the people who welcome you at the door. Unfortunately, this experience showed me exactly where Peaches fell short.

I sincerely hope management addresses the importance of respectful and professional customer interactions...

The 5 star review ONLY applies to the DJ experience on 30 APR 2024 at the Music Cafe. NOTHING ELSE. I was in the area for a work conference and a group of us stopped by to check out the night scene.

The vibe in the main cocktailbar area(s) was not very welcoming, so we made our way to the Music Cafe (which was empty). But that was PERFECT, because we had the dance floor to ourselves for a while. The DJ was LIT!!! A perfectly seamless buffet of non-stop fire tracks.

It got packed quickly and, unfortunately, some guests got rude (verbally and physically) toward one of our homegirls. So, we tapped out and called it a night. Would I go back? Maybe. Would I recommend this place to others? Meh. From personal experience, the only highlight was the DJ booth at the Music Cafe on this specific date. If this was its own separate place, I'd definitely highly recommend. But as an overall...

We visited this place just to kill time and enjoy Friday night cocktail hour. The person who checks COVID-19 passes at the entrance was not a nice person because he was a pain. We were travellers there and he was demanding us for all kinds of documents including passport etc. Why??? One single proof of identification is not enough? Wasn’t the Ausweis and health insurance card with expiry date, not enough?

We somehow got inn because he clearly helped us kill our time in best way possible 😑.

Cocktails were great no doubt and ambiance was clearly very peachy with palm trees. Haha!
