We recently chose this restaurant to celebrate our wedding day, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. From the moment we shared the occasion with the team, chefs (and hosts) Jamarley and Mateusz went above and beyond to make the evening unforgettable. Before our visit, they reached out to ask if there was anything they could do to make our celebration extra specialâa thoughtful gesture that already set the tone.
When we arrived, we were greeted with a beautifully set table, an enormous pot of tulips (which they generously gifted us at the end of the night), and a glass of exquisite champagne. This warm and personal welcome truly touched us, and we couldnât have asked for a better placeâor better peopleâto celebrate such a meaningful day. The entire team was incredibly kind and professional, always smiling and bringing positive energy throughout the evening.
As for the foodâthere are no words to fully capture how exceptional it was. You simply have to experience it for yourself. The level of cuisine Jamarley and Mateusz deliver is in a league of its own, far surpassing many other fine dining experiences in Hamburg. Having dined at several Michelin-starred restaurants (from one to three stars), I can confidently say that the quality and creativity we experienced here rivalâand often exceedâmany of them.
Each dish is not only meticulously crafted but also tells a story, reflecting memories from the chefsâ childhoods and their unique culinary journeys. The fusion of Jamaican and Polish cuisineâtwo culinary worlds seemingly so distantâcomes together seamlessly in a way that is both innovative and deeply comforting. This thoughtful blend makes the restaurant a true gem in Hamburgâs dining scene.
We feel incredibly lucky to have discovered this place and to have chosen it for one of the most special dinner of our lives. If youâre looking for an extraordinary dining experience where food, atmosphere, and hospitality come together perfectly, this is the...
Read moreThe service overall was friendly, however, when we shared our honest opinion regarding the three French fries dish with caviar and mayonnaise, the person serving us became defensive and went on to explain the personal story behind the idea for this dish. Frankly, it was something I could have made at home after a drunk night out.
The wine pairing was decent, however, some glasses overpowered the food, while others didnât complement the dishes accordingly.
The dishes had some flavor but were overall disappointing. The Carabineros dish could have been great, but it was soaked in a heavy sauce that ruined the overall balance. The jerk chicken was also underwhelming. On a positive note, the smoked tomatoes were excellent, and the fish course was decent. Still, for spending over âŹ500, one would expect something much better.
We left hungry and went to eat elsewhere. The restaurant has great potential, but they need to focus more on simplicity rather than trying so hard to present the food in an overly elaborate...
Read moreThe dishes are creatively composed, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the menus are thoughtfully curated, in short the food is truly fooding: We had a magical evening in an intimate setting where we were served 5 delicious small courses alongside the juiciest sourdough bread Iâve ever had the pleasure to fortify with equally delicious butter. Outstanding for me was the pumpkin salad containing three different herbs and pumpkin prepared in various ways (roasted, pickled and whatever else can happen to pumpkin). With every course and accompanying drink we were given brief introductions about the idea behind the dish as well as the produce. Criss Studio emphasize not only their personal heritage in their compositions but also the local availability of certain products. The whole experience is, I believe, reasonably priced and something I will save up for again. I went with a small group of friends and we all left with a smile (and a craving to continue the evening at a...
