Erikas Eck, a Cozy Schnitzel Spot in Lively Schanzenviertel
Lively Schanzenviertel is a tiny district brimming with cozy bars, vintage shops, and international restaurants set in colorful buildings.
While walking and wandering through the area, I noticed a restaurant sign with a simple, small entrance door. Behind this unassuming door lies an establishment dedicated to schnitzels.
The menu offers a variety of options, including pork schnitzel with different sauces, turkey schnitzel, and cordon bleu. Each dish features a very large schnitzel served atop fried potatoes with onions and pork ham cubes—delicious and generously portioned.
Additionally, we tried the goulash soup, a creamy and flavorful dish packed with vegetables and tender chunks of meat, perfectly seasoned with paprika. The portion was satisfying, and the taste was excellent.
The service was very friendly and helpful, adding to the pleasant experience. This is a great place that, if given the chance, I would happily...
Read moreI visited this place for brunch after finding it on google maps. This place in itself has a warm cozy atmosphere. The place is still quite empty during my time of visit. From my experience, I think you have to take your order at the counter near the entrance instead of at your table.

The Bratkartoffeln was also bland with couple of spots being burnt. But my biggest problem is the fact that it is so greasy. That is the first thing that I noticed, which is why I didn’t quite enjoy my experience alongside that the waitress forgot to input my order after writing down my order. Which is weird because the restaurant was not busy at all during my time of visit with only 1 table occupied.
Overall, I guess unfortunately I must say I didn’t quite enjoy...
Read moreSpontaneous decision to have lunch at this restaurant with a local friend in April 2023 after we visited the Dome theme park. We read the google review before decided to eat here and was sceptical because a lot of reviews mentioned about the rude and unfriendly staff. It was correct as we felt unwelcome when we said that we didn’t have a reservation. The staff allowed us to enter but told us that we need to leave in an hour. There were only a few customers when we were there and a lot of empty tables. It was annoying when she wanted us to quickly order the drinks as soon as she gave us the menu. When the schnitzel arrived, the staff looked unhappy when my friend requested for a slice of lemon. Of course the schnitzel was delicious but I won’t come again to this restaurant from this...
