So to be honest... I am really sad that I have to give only 3 stars. First of all the dishes are chefskiss delicious. The lobster was perfect, fish and side dishes were splendid. The location is beautiful and the whole ambience was wonderful. Now you may wonder "but what happened that this review is only 3 stars?" I can tell you why! We were really unfortunate to get a kind of slacky waiter. He seemed not to be listening when you tried talking to him. One of my companions ordered a normal dish and another side dish extra. The waiter didn't pay attention so she got her main dish with only the extra side dish but not the "normal"side dish that also comes with the main dish... well what ever that can happen. Right ? So a different waiter helped us out and brought the right dishes almost within 5 minutes. Props on that. After a fun talking time and a lovely meal my other companion wanted a dessert just before we were about to leave. She ordered a a chocolate tartan bit the menus didn't say that It had a mango cream which my companion is unfortunately allergic to. After I informed the waiter that there was a misunderstanding he just took the plate away from her without saying a word and just left. We thought he was gonna come back and bring one without the cream but no. Unfortunately he didn't. This whole situation made us feel really unwelcomed and that is unacceptable. This restaurant is not cheap and the quality of the food is nice but we as customers expect a proper service. We can understand that someone may have a bad day but running around clueless, not listening to what a customer is saying and not proactively trying to come forward and solve a problem is unprofessional. For the money we spend there this simply should not be happening. The last thing that really blew our minds was when we tried to inform THIS waiter that we wanted to pay. My companions did not have cash and wanted to pay with their card. We informed him TWICE that they wanted to pay with card. And the waiter answered "can't you just like throw it together?" ?????? Throw what together ? Our Credit Cards? I rly dont know what this waiters mission was but it failed miserably. In conclusion I can just say that I won't be visiting this restaurant anymore because I don't ever want to see that waiter again. The whole experience was a disaster and made all 3 of us feel miserable. I hope something will change about this because it really has potential and the meals are delicious. (A different waiter was rly nice and helped us out and gave some advice on how to eat a lobster properly, we were really sad that he didn't do all of...

We originally meant to book in for New Year's eve, but, as one would expect, 3 days before there'd be little chance there. Trying again just after New Year we got lucky and got a table for the two and a half of us. The reception was very welcoming, with the staff attending to all of us, friendly and happy - just enough and not too much. Perfect. That service level was maintained throughout and very accommodating, almost home or at least, like dining at a friend's place. We were very set on getting my wife what Hummer Pedersen is known, even famous for - Lobster. So half a Canadian lobster it was for her. I was torn between the tuna steak and the North Sea Turbot. The waitress was great helping me to decide. Pedersen had fresh blue fin tuna as a starter special, so I could have tuna, naturally, to be shared with my wife, and I got to have my North Sea Turbot as well - and never looked back. What a recommendation that was. The tuna was so extremely tender, firm but melty, if one can imagine without sampling the real thing. The presentation was excellent and the whole composition - a dream of extremely well balanced flavours, with the wasabi dressing supporting all flavours, not overpowering, but like a good base line in a song supporting all presented on the plate. The chef - a culinary poet. Our two year old was offered hand made fish sticks, so not frozen from a pack but - very nice and, despite her being fussy, she ate well. It was very good. The lobster was as one would expect, perfectly cooked with its flavour enhanced by the butter. Very nice, as was the tarbot on the polenta bed and sugu, again balanced flavours, cooked perfectly and excellent compositions on the plate. The recommended wine, a "Grauburgunder" Pinot Gris was an excellent recommendation rounding the meal to a fantastic culinary experience for us. As dessert we chose a succulent warm chocolate soufflé with bourbon vanilla ice cream and that too - balanced textures, flavours and just sweet enough. The grappa to digest all these wonders from Pedersen's kitchen - just nice and, yes, here it comes,.they make a very good espresso too. Full, rich, but again - balanced so well. I timed the crema for two minutes, then just had to drink it. Overall an excellent and yes, for us unforgettable dining experience. Thank you all from the kitchen to service for that. We definitely will come back for more and drop a few of the usual Hamburg names of our list in favour of Hummer Pedersen. Well done indeed. See what you made me do? Rave, and that I am not known...

This was my 2nd time eating at Hummer Pedersen. The 1st time was during semi-lockdown during the summer of 2020.

I went for dinner here with my sister during a rainy Saturday night.

For the starter, we shared the Ziegenkäse salad which was a delicious berry salad with grilled goat's cheese and sauteed prawns. It was a really impressive starter for what we thought we just be a typical goat's salad.

For the mains, we ordered the lobster tagliatelle and the saffron scallops. Both of the mains were very good, but I would recommend ordering the lobster soup as a starter instead of the pasta as the lobster tagliatelle is a lot of lobster to get through in terms of strong flavours. My sister's saffron risotto was good but the rice was a little mushy. We would recommend some of the specials they had, which some of our neighbours ordered which was salmon with mashed potatoes or a delicious turbot.

Overall, their dishes are excellent. I would just also recommend trying their specials when they advertise them, as they looked excellent and order lobster more in small portions as it can be very strong in terms of...

Came here after reading the many positive reviews. Unfortunately, we were seated at the same table as another couple, which normally doesn't bother us but during the COVID19 pandemic, we thought it was not ideal... Especially since we made a reservation! The food was a mixed bag... We ordered lobster and it was just ok. We ordered it warm and it came out at room temperature, definitely not warm. It was a little tough and chewy, clearly overcooked. The fries were amazing and much better than the mashed potatoes. The side salad was also very good. The service was friendly enough in typical northern German style. Informal and efficient. My only complaint about the service is we were asked to stand up three times during our meal to accommodate the change in guests at our table, which I'm ok with, however the waiter informed us we would be given a complimentary schnapps for our troubles. Sadly we paid for the meal and left without the schnapps ever being served. I appreciate the gesture, but it would be best if they followed through. Long story short, I wouldn't recommend this place based on my experience...
