A very unpleasant experience. I had been given a voucher from my friends in sweden to eat at this restaurant. My friend contacted the restaurant via email and paid 100 euro for a voucher which he printed and gave me for my birthday. When arriving to the restaurant yesterday we showed the voucher to the staff before even sitting down to be sure there would be no problem. They assured us it was no problem so we sat down. During the dinner which was OK the waiter came to our table and asked about the voucher and again reassured us there was no problem. After the dinner when we ask to pay they all of a sudden inform us that we cannot use the voucher and that we need the original paper voucher. The instructions in the email my friend received was simply to print the voucher and bring it to the restaurant. As this was emailed by the restaurabt the only people with the original was the restaurant themselves. All this was explained to the staff before we sat down to eat and they said there was no problem. In the end after the waiter pointing the card machine in our face telling us to pay as he had no time for this. We were forced to pay. This was an extremely embarrassing experience and the way the staff made us feel was not ok. We then had to contact my friend for him to forward the email with the whole conversation he had with the restaurant and we had to cycle 5 km back to the restaurant today to ask for our money back. After this experience the taste of the food is not even relevant anymore. The food was grear but overpriced since you would expect a higher standard of service in a restaurant like this. If I could give one piece if advice to this restaurant it would be: Its not what you say, its not what you do, its how you...
Read moreWe have eaten here many times over the years but this was the first time in quite a while, and the first time we reviewed I Vigneri. We always liked the restaurant for the superior quality of food and the nice ambience. The food was fantastic this time as well, perfectly prepared pasta, perfectly cooked meat and fish. The presentation was also nice and we didn’t have to wait for a long time for the food. We found that the waiter, who has been there for as long as we have been coming here (6+ years), unfortunately had become rather arrogant and nonchalant. We weren’t sure if he was trying to be funny or if he simply was that arrogant. He didn’t ask the lady what she wanted to drink, he didn’t present the wine before pouring it (we even had to ask what he was pouring!), and he wasn’t seeking eye contact while speaking with us. Pity… his behavior ruined what could otherwise have been a perfect dining experience. We have the feeling that I Vigneri has become so successful that they don’t think they need to take good care of their...
