Seems to be a very famous seafood restaurant in Hamburg. There were alot of people going in and out of the restaurant and when we were done, there was a long queue waiting to be seated. Food: I had seafood soup and it had so much seafood. It was fresh and delicious I enjoyed my lunch here. Service: Great service. The waitress was very friendly and they automatically give coloring pencils and paper to every kid to keep them entertained. They also gave our child a lollipop after the meal but first asked us if it was ok to give the candy. These little gestures mean alot to parents like us. Atmosphere: Alot of tables inside but there were more people wanting to sit. If you use the toilet upstairs, be ready with a coin for the lady by the toilets.. Highly recommended in Hamburg.

As we were in Hamburg, we knew we wanted fish for lunch so this place looked ideal. The food was pretty tasty (fish soup and the mustard fish). Unfortunately the service seemed cold and the set up of the restaurant is kinda odd - there is the restaurant area where you can sit in and dine, and there is the front area where sandwiches are presented in a fridge for takeaway. The restaurant side doesn’t offer any of the sandwiches on its menu, however, if you go to the front end to order there, you are reminded that you cannot eat the sandwich in the restaurant and its take away only. This is weird as for a fish restaurant and a city that’s famous for fischbrotchen, I would expect to see sandwiches on the main menu. It’s all one business so at least offer us the option to buy from the front end and eat in the restaurant with the other dishes we ordered. Finally, the waiter asked for a tip at the end of our experience. He never checked in with us once or did anything above the bare minimum so it wasn’t justified, and came across as rude.

You can’t go wrong at this place. Top quality seafood, friendly staff and a modern & classy atmosphere inside at very casual prices. Perfect meal after an afternoon of walking around the HafenCity area along the Elbe or Rathausmarkt and seeing Hamburg’s sights I got the Fish & Chips, which were delectable. Perfectly washed down with a bottle of Coke Nothing pretentious about it, just tender and flaky chunks of fish in a very light and crispy batter, served atop a bed of beautifully cooked fries in a cardboard box, with a dollop of their house-made tartar sauce Oh my word, that tartar sauce… Bursting with herby flavor. Very rich and delicious. The fries that were underneath and covered in it were the best in the box. Sehr lekker, sehr gut. 10/10

We found this place on Google Maps because of its proximity to the new concert hall. Pleasantly surprised that it was so delicious, with good service and nice dining area. There is the bistro area where you can order takeout for cheaper prices but sit down was also inexpensive. We had the Fish Soup, which has all kinds of seafood (see photo). Contain no dairy and a little bit of heat. The boiled cod with mustard sauce was cooked to perfection with a side of very fresh mashed potatoes. Will go again if not for wanting to try other things in the city. Enjoy!

I went there based on reviews. I found the place quite overrated. I had the Matjesbroetchen, and for good measures I also had the fish and chips. The Matjesbroetchen was alright but sure you can do better for less in something a little more honest just off the beaten track. The fish and chips was terrible. The fish was overcooked, dry and the batter had no crunch. The staff looked uninterested and wasn't particular friendly. Simply put, there was nothing original about this place. But if you just look to tick a box, it will do...

Very good place and good value for money. I read in the comments that the place is quite overrated. I completely disagree. For 11€ you can get a fish and chips, with delicious soft cod and crispy tasty fries. The fries are definitely to try with their delicious sauce. Service is super fast and there is plenty of space to sit. Also very convenient spot just in front of the Rathaus! I would definitely recommend if you are spending a few days in Hamburg and want to try some fish and chips
