We saw several reviews from this restaurant prior to our trip to Hamburg, and I must say that the item that attracted me the most was the fact that a menu is available online & the prices are in the moderate range. A bit of research was done, only to find that many restaurants did not have an online menu and/or prices that seemed a bit outrageous.

This restaurant turned out to be a jewel! One is greeted and seated (in French) and the complete restaurant gives ones the feeling of being in a French bistro and not in the middle of Hamburg.

We started with the escagot. Personally, I prefer to have my escargot in the shell, but these were served in a miniature cast-iron pot. The novelty of the idea only added to the superior preparation of this appetizer.

My partner enjoyed the steak that he ordered, and said it was one of the most perfectly grilled steaks he had ever eaten. I ordered the veal kidney, which was served and incredible gratin Dauphinois, with a mustard sauce. And absolute delight.

The wine selection was varied, and we had simply selected the cheese plate for dessert. The desserts that were served at the surrounding tables looked lovely, and not another guest complained about the way they tasted.

The only minor negative experience was the server responsible for our table. In her area, there was a larger group of individuals, and the number of guests appeared to overwhelm her. Had she had a little more support, the service would have been rated as excellent.

Personally, I would consider this establishment a must for any future trip to Hamburg. Thank you for a wonderful experience and...

Came with great expectations but left sadly disappointed. First we ordered some cocktails to start the evening. Then we ordered our starters and main courses. Our starter came and still no drinks had arrived. We asked again where they where and promptly came a bottle of sparkling water and two glasses of Sekt which we didn't order but we presumed this was house gesture for the mix up of our drinks. It was hard to tell as they where just put on our table with no Explanation. The food was OK and also the service was polite. We finished our meals. Still no sign of the cocktails we ordered. We then asked to see the dessert menu and were told it would be just a second. 20 mins later we still had no dessert menu and had asked for the bill. We paid the bill and only then I realized we were charged 6.90€ for the bottle of sparkling water that we didn't drink. And the two glasses of Sekt @ €20. I said to the waiter that we didn't have or order these, and his reply was "oh sorry" and walked...

cute little french restaurant. staff was overly friendly, I almost missed the rudeness of a typical parisian waiter. our waiter actually had an italian accent. nothing against italians, it's just that I came to a french restaurant.

the foie gras was a special, served in a heavy cranberry sauce with pears. it was fantastic. probably the best foie gras I've had. really too bad it's not part of regular menu.

the main course was a bit oversalted and while desert was pretty good, it wasn't too far from what I would describe as mediocre.

I couldn't help but feel like being in a northern german's idea of a french restaurant. if you're from hamburg and haven't been to paris but love french quisine — this restaurant is perfect for you. for the rest of us, it's a decent french restaurant.

not sure if I would come here again myself but I would recommend it someone who wants to go to a fancy restaurant in Hamburg but doesn't actually have any idea of what a really great...

A very nice dining experience if you enjoy French food. The staff is extremely good, but compared to other French restaurants in Hamburg I rate this restaurant three stars. The interior is quite French, as is the music, and the staff speak mostly French, which is very nice. Safety was okay from A C19 perspective. We had fois gras which was average, snails, also average, ox cheeks which were good, and shrimp with rice which also was good. The menu has a majority of rabbit, kidneys, and liver, so if you enjoy that type of food you may rate the restaurant higher. The wine list is unusually short for a French restaurant but sufficient for the type of dishes served.

Food was good but some Items were overpriced. An oyster for 6 euros is outraged even for London so the dozen oysters came up to 70 Odd Euros. The monk fish cheeks special was excellent sauce with saffron but the cheek was somewhat over done and dry. The turbot was cooked to Perfection with a champagne sauce and so was the chicken leg ballottine. Chocolate desert with raspberry ice cream Also delicious. Service was good and reasonable timings . Seating cramped. Wine was reasonably priced so 12 oysters, 4 mains and one desert with a bottle Of water and wine for close to 270euros!
