Mamalicious — Restaurant in Hamburg

Worst service I've ever had What happened was: 1: we were put at a table with 2 strangers (which is usually no big deal but since it was my boyfriends birthday I wanted it to be kinda more intimate). The table was not at all big enough for 4 and took the waitresses 20 minutes before she even cleaned it up.

2: I asked for our own table as soon as there was one free and one waitress told us she would give us the next free table. Well , after 2 seconds that was forgotten and new guests were seated on our promised table. We ended up staying at the tiny table with 2 strangers.

3: it took the staff 20 minutes until we could order. We ordered the tofu scramble since we're both vegan. After 30 minutes of more waiting (so 50 mins in total since we arrived) they brought us scrambled eggs instead of tofu... So we had to wait for another 20 mins to get OUR food.

All in all: Food was very very good, no doubt! But unfortunately bad service influences the whole visit and therefore it was not a good experience at all. It didn't feel clean or tidy, and also it seemed like the staff was overworked/unconcentrated and therefore unable to...

Vegetarian with a LOT of vegan options (the vegetarian things were just the eggs (though there is a vegan version of the scrambled eggs), the choice of cow milk for the beverages and some type of cheese I believe, the rest was vegan). We had breakfast but there was also salads and burgers in the menu if you want to make it lunch. The pancakes were absolutely delicious, the sausages were too, the bacon was AMAZING! I've tried my fair share of vegan bacon and this one was easily the best I've ever had ! We went there during the week so there was a couple of free tables though I think during the weekend it's more difficult to find one. Also, we really appreciated the free water at our disposal. I have been several times at Mamalicious and I do love the food - the full Canadian could save my Sunday. Buuut, getting to the food is quite difficult. Standing in line for 30+ minutes without a waiter acknowledging you and then waiting another 60 minutes between ordering and getting the food. Guys, why does it take so long?

Today was the lowlight though. Half the seats were empty, we were the only ones waited to be seated. We tried several times to get the waiter attention. After ~15 minutes, somebody finally placed us, without giving us the menus. We tried again to get the waiters attention, just to be told that we have to be wait to placed(?).

There are too many good places to eat in Hamburg to have this low...
