I visited yesterday. The staff were kind, and the food tasted good at first. However, I had diarrhea afterwards, and this was the only meal I had that day. As a Korean, I was a bit disappointed. The quality of the meat was far from Korean BBQ. The side dishes were more like Chinese food. Dried tofu salad? What was that seaweed salad? We don't eat those things with K-BBQ. And I don't know why, but the zucchini was bitter. The kimchi jjigae was too salty and sweet, the tteokbokki was too spicy, and the shrimp was overly salty even though it looked raw and unseasoned. I was expecting to eat Korean food, but I ended up eating not-so-hygienic Chinese food. Also, what’s with putting paper on the grill? I’ve never seen that done in Korea. If you're going to use paper to keep the grill clean, at least use a bigger one. I really hope people in Hamburg don’t think this is what real Korean food tastes like.

Went at 5pm Saturday and had to book several days in advance to get a table at all. It's very popular and a fun thing to do with a few people. The buffet of raw meats, salads, a couple types of basic sushi, Korean pancakes (yum!), fried chicken and a couple other cooked finger food options was constantly refilled and of a good quality. The meat is thinly sliced so cooks fast and is tasty and fresh. The place gets a bit loud so it's hard to talk much, but it's a different experience and enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours with friends - note you are limited to 2 hours too - an extra half hour would be nice just to make it a bit more relaxed. The dessert options were lovely and so make sure to leave room!!

I had an amazing time at Mr. Kao with my friends! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully served – every dish tasted incredible. 🍜🍺 The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, perfect for enjoying a good meal together. The staff were very friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. Loved the Cass beer and the delicious Korean dishes – a perfect combination! Definitely one of the best spots in Hamburg for authentic Korean food. Can’t wait to come back again! 🙌

This restaurant was found by coincidence as we walked around in town! I'm totally glad we did! We couldn't get a table on that particular night but was lucky that we could get a table for the next evening! The guy was very sweet and helpful with the booking! And he speaks English! The buffet comprises raw meats, salads, a couple types of gimbap, Korean pancakes, fried chicken, hotwings, and dumplings. So yummy! The meat is thinly slice, s it cooks faste, tasty and fresh! The atmosphere is awesome! The personnel are sweet, warm and helpful! They smile all the time! You enjoy up to 2 hours too.

The dessert options were great and and delicious! Highly recommended! Will definitely visit again the next we come to Hamburg!

BTW you get soju when you pay your...

FAZIT: Spannendes Konzept – leider schlecht umgesetzt.
