Restaurant Casa Nostra — Restaurant in Hamburg

The food was delicious the best I have had so far in Hamburg! But the service was absolutely shocking. We arrived and there was very little in the restaurant and we asked for a table. The server actually looked put out that we had arrived (maybe because we are not German and spoke English) we ordered and noticed that the table next to us had been given olives and bread and asked for the same. Waiter actually looked shocked that we had the cheek to request this. The food arrived and it was delicious but you could feel the waiter watch you the whole time so it was really uncomfortable. We finished our food and asked politely for the bill which we received I told the waiter we had finished and he waited with the empty plates while I checked the bill. I had no issues with the bill it was what I ordered so I got the cash and put it in the wallet. Then I was told that the bill did not include service and I felt completely intimidated by the waiter. I would have left a tip if the service would have been half decent. But the entire time that we were in the restaurant I felt we were not wanted. And the tip of the iceberg was the absolute cheek of the waiter to tell me that the service is not included in the bill. I have been to plenty of restaurants I am well aware that a gratuity tip is very rarely included in the bill. So therefore 1 Star they should really...

Seems to have gone down hill food-wise. I used to visit a couple of times a year when in town, and my last visit was abysmal. The service is usually a bit chaotic because one is often served by 3 or 4 different staff members, no one seems to be in charge or monitors your requirements. Part of the charm, I guess. But the last time I visited, the food was pathetic, a really crappy pizza for me and my partner's pasta could have made by a 10 year old. We ate what we could and left asap, and I won't be returning on my next trip to town. This is a big place and they shouldn't need to have sub-standard food pointed out. EDIT: You might notice very few 1-star reviews. Don't think that's because no one left them. It's because people have to prove they dined here in order for them not to be removed under German law.

It's pretty difficult to make a bad pizza, but somehow this place managed. We even got given the wrong pizza, which arrived luke warm and with barely any sauce on it.
