🌟🍜 Review of Yume Hamen, Hamburg 🍜🌟
Unfortunately, our experience at Yume Hamen left much to be desired. Located on Lange Reihe, the bad ambiance of the restaurant was the same as the underwhelming meal. The dim lighting seemed to discourage a closer look at what was being served. 🍴
The dining environment at Yume Hamen was notably dark, making the setting somewhat unwelcoming. The main dish, the tan-tan ramen, was disappointing with an odd red topping and lackluster meat that failed to impress. The most critical letdown was the broth, which was bland and lacked any distinctive flavor. For the price of 18 EUR, the quality and taste certainly did not meet expectations, and neither did the ambiance, which was small and dark. 🍜
Yume Hamen is situated in the somewhat controversial area of Lange Reihe. While the area is accessible, the restaurant itself feels a bit isolated, adding to the overall lackluster experience. 🌆
The Positive: Friendly staff, who seem willing to improve the dining experience. They kindly offered us green tea ice cream, which was a pleasant gesture. However, in the end, you come to a restaurant for the food and not just for the staff. 🍵
Review made by Pedro. We won’t be returning to Yume Hamen. There are certainly better dining options available in Hamburg where the quality of food and atmosphere can justify the expense. We hope this review helps...
Read moreWhat a splendid way to end my last day here at Hamburg. I came here to satisfy my cravings for Asian food and left very fulfilled and happy.
I ordered the paitan ramen, takoyaki and mango cocktail. Ramen broth was very flavourful and rich, with good portions of chicken to ramen. Soft, slightly crispy and tender. Definitely a staple for a cold winter day. Takoyaki was up to standards. Cocktail has that burst of mango flavour, but was a tad bit sweet for me.
I really loved the complimentary on the house matcha ice cream the lady gave to me at the end. Ever so generous. The man also gave me a lollipop as I was paying for the bill. Service was exceptional, warm, friendly and kind. The man also helped me find my AirPod that I dropped. Best I’ve seen from a Japanese restaurant thus far. Only downside, it is busy and loud so not the most relaxing place to eat at. If I ever get the chance to come back to Hamburg, this would be a must visit again.
To get a fix on some Asian food in Europe, this is a...
Read moreI am surprised of all good reviews! Only looking at the ramen pictures using sweet corn on top, shows this place is not an authentic ramen place. I got fooled with the positive review! I had Tonkotsu broth which is originally made from boiling pork bones for hours to extract the collagen and marrow, resulting in a creamy, milky, and rich soup. The broth was not rich, but sweet and it was missing so much savoury flavor. The ingredients were weird too! Spinat on ramen?!? The service was not better than food, thy were over crowded and understaffed, so the waitress not friendly. One of them already mixed up our bill with another table and we just realised it after paying it! My companion were not happy with their food as well. We all agreed kimchi brothers in Jungfernstieg area has even better bibimbap with cheaper price! I will not go...
