Albertz. — Restaurant in Hanover

The Garlic soup was average, i have had a better one before. The Fillet tenderloin was excellent, probably the best i have had in my 2 weeks in Germany. The Sorbet for dessert was two scopes, mangos and mint and they were really good.

I dropped three stars because of the gentlemen who took us to our seat and served us. Hospitality means good food and good service. When the host treats his guests like trash, that ruins the experience Our host was always in a hurry and for some reason got offended because i waived when I wanted the dessert menu. His colleague explained to me that this is not nice in Germany (he obviously complained to his colleagues), but this does not give him the right to treat his guests in a rude way. 101 lesson when you work in hospitality, in a well-know hotel, with guests from different cultures, in a city known for yearlong international exhibitions, you have to be flexible and understanding. After-all, i just waived, i did not give him the finger to get offended and rude.

Of course i blame the management on such a thing because there should be proper training for the staff before they can get engaged with guests.

Sadly, I will go again (since i am staying in the same hotel and the food was honestly good) I dealt with two other people and they were professional and smiling. I asked to see the rude host and apologized if i did anything that offended him and explained to him that i come from a different culture. I expected him to apologize as well,...

Gestern Abend ging es ins "Albertz" im Hotel Schweizer Hof, einem Restaurant, das sich selbst als "New German Eatery" bezeichnet und gehobene deutsche Küche serviert. Der erste Eindruck war positiv: modern und geschmackvoll eingerichtet, mit viel Samt und einer angenehmen Atmosphäre. Doch ein kleiner Wermutstropfen wartete bereits beim Betreten – im vorderen Bereich des Restaurants fand eine After-Work-Party statt, die zu einer dauerhaften Beschallung mit Liedern wie "Atemlos durch die Nacht" führte. Das sorgte für eine unerwartete Mischung aus Malle-Ambiente und gehobenem Speiselokal, was die Kommunikation am Tisch etwas erschwerte.

Trotz dieser akustischen Herausforderung überzeugte das "Albertz" durch seinen freundlichen Service und die Qualität des Essens – zumindest überwiegend. Mein Hauptgericht, der Gänsebraten, war hervorragend: Die Gans war schön knusprig, nicht zu fett, und die Soße rundete das Gericht perfekt ab – auch wenn sie gerne etwas großzügiger bemessen hätte sein dürfen. Die klassischen Klöße passten ausgezeichnet dazu. Der Rosenkohl allerdings war für meinen Geschmack zu hart und zu wenig gewürzt – ich bevorzuge ihn butterweich und ordentlich gesalzen, so wie bei Oma. Der süß gefüllte Bratapfel, der ebenfalls auf dem Teller lag, war zwar originell, aber seine Verbindung zum Gesamtgericht erschloss sich mir nicht ganz.

Vor dem Hauptgang wurde uns sehr luftiges, wahrscheinlich selbstgebackenes Brot gereicht, das ich als Highlight empfand. Auch die Nachspeise konnte überzeugen: Eine wunderbar zubereitete Créme Brûlée mit selbstgemachtem Vanilleeis, das ästhetisch in einer Schüssel auf einem Teller angerichtet war – eine schöne Mischung aus Tradition und Moderne.

Der Cappuccino zum Abschluss wurde mit einer kleinen, frisch gebackenen Madeleine serviert, was ich als nette Geste empfand. Der Service war freundlich und bemüht, wirkte aber zwischenzeitlich etwas überfordert – was bei der Kombination aus vollem Restaurant und lauter Party im Hintergrund nicht verwunderlich war.

Insgesamt war es ein gelungener Abend mit kleinen Abstrichen. Das "Albertz" bietet solide gehobene Küche, hat aber an diesem Abend durch die laute Party etwas von seinem Charme eingebüßt. Vielleicht wäre es unter anderen Umständen ein perfektes Erlebnis gewesen – ich komme sicher noch einmal wieder, dann hoffentlich in...

Wow, just wow! Good here has been nothing but incredible! No matter what iv order it’s been great and taste wise it’s 10/10.

Staying there for work for a week and been in there for most night and breakfast, been awesome.

Recommend the rack of lamb and the US beef, out of this world! Halibut risotto were also great too, texture of the rice are just perfecto ❤️

Cocktails are also good and over all it was very reasonable price.
