Faced discrimination: I went with my friend for dinner. Now, we noticed, that the workers behaved differently compared to German customers. They also lit up candles to all the tables, except ours. This was not mere a silly mistake but utter negligence to your countrymen. Their attitude was, oh they are Indians, so anything can be done with them and no greetings or atequete was needed.
Extremely poor delivery: Finally, I ordered food from them via Uber Eats. The curry portions were less consecutive days. About 70% of rice could be eaten. Then last two days, the curry was less than 50% of the container, which was disgracefully less and disrespectful. Now, I only could eat 40% of rice with that. Then being hungry I called the shop. After, 5-6 hours in the evening the owner called me back. Offered me an ice cream next time. Now I'm not a beggar. I was hungry. What I will do with an ice cream? He did not even ask my choice if I really eat ice cream.
Unapologetic, rude, audacious owner: When I called the restaurant, neither the owner apologized, nor asked me for a solution of my preference. Instead, he keep telling I should not complain or just tell the problem in a soft way. Dude, I was hungry even after spending 16 Eur per meal and you are providing less amount for consecutive last 4 deliveries. You are lucky that I was still polite.
Reply to owner's message (03.12.2024): I did not order two meals for three people. I believe you did not understand me well since I spoke English. So, no, my message reflects fact. In general, I don’t complain for a single mistake. But when its repeated,...
Read moreAuthentic atmosphere Had a prolonged chat with 3 different staff members about the food (chicken vindaloo). The vindaloo is not treated with enzymes like in most Indian restaurant. Might feel "dry" for some but it's actually fitting better. The vindaloo was pretty spicy, not recommended if your tolerance is below "a shot glass of Tabasco". It was extremely delicious tho.
I visited probably 100 different Indian restaurants and I try the vindaloo first cause it's often the most authentic and this one was the tastiest vindaloo I had so far.
The Indian rum I was offered to taste was very specific. Not everyone's taste, fairly mild but with a strong spice note. Pretty tasty.
I came here the second time for the maker faire and it's been even better....
Read moreTaj Mahal restaurant in Hannover, Germany offers an exceptional dining experience. The ambience sets the perfect tone for a memorable meal, complemented by phenomenal food and beer. I particularly enjoyed the baingan bhartha, which was rich in flavor and beautifully garnished with ginger shoots. Paired with plain flaky paratha, yogurt, and hot pickles, each dish was served piping hot, enhancing the dining experience. The Warsteiner beer provided a light and refreshing accompaniment to the meal. With such delightful offerings, I found myself fully satisfied and with no room left for dessert.
