Casa Mia — Restaurant in Heidelberg

While the food at Casa Mia is definitely above average for restaurant standards in Germany, the service was very disappointing. We made a reservation for 18:30 on a Saturday and they let us know that the reservation was only for 2 hours, until 20:30. But the waitress was so rude and started asking us to leave from 19:50 onwards. First she brought us the cheque and then she aggressively asked us to pay. Then at 20:15, she straight up asked us to leave - apparently because they needed to clean up the table for the next reservation. 15 minutes to clean a 2 m2 table ? We didn't plan to stay till the last minute anyway, and were very surprised at her behavior. The evening was going very well, the food was decent, but the whole situation with the waitress left a bad taste and frankly ruined our night. Not recommended at all. I order spaghetti vongole, they were so bad, really bad 15 euro. The vongole were ok alone, but when I tried the vongole with spaghetti it was a disaster, they leave the water in which they boiled the spaghetti in my plate.It taste like .... I don t know how to describe the taste, horrible. That is the first part, then we ordered a pizza because I was still hungry after returning my spaghetti also nothing to be impressed of, took one slice and thought ok, I will never come back here. Services slow, they were losing our bone for the drinks, we have to wait 30 minutes until we get our drinks. A recent addition to the local Weststadt eating options. We always found Italian restaurants in the area dated, overpriced for the quality offered and not particularly tasty. This place has done a great job as the interior has a modern, welcoming design, the food is excellent in its simplicity and the prices are a bargain for the quality. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Reservation recommended but not necessary for couples. The restaurant is relatively quiet during early lunch time on weekdays, so for me a great spot for business lunches as well.
