Okay, so I had two visits here, both weeks apart. On our first visit, we really liked the food. Masala Dosa was really good for 9 euros in Heidelberg. Chicken Kuttu Parota and Chicken Chetinad were really good too. They were making food on spot so it took some time but we anyways enjoyed the seating area. Weeks after, 2nd visit: We tried Biryani as it was suggested last time by the owner, and it was really really good. We ordered the dosa again and for some reason it wasn't upto the mark. Dosa was missing salt, the potato filing was so so oily that the dosa was dripping, and the sambar was just flavourless. I don't maybe the cook changed? Next we tried Indian Chinese, Gobi Manchurian and Veg Noodles, and they weren't Indian Chinese at all. They were just bad. Though we finished Gobi Manchurian somehow, we couldn't do that with Noodles. They were just so bad that I had to send them back. There was no soya sauce, rice vinegar or other different ingredients which are used for actual Indian Chinese. I mean I can cook way better than that at home with Ching's masala! There was no flavour profile in the food this time. So, the verdict is that only the south indian food is good (not the best), other varieties are not. There's a room for a lot of improvement in the food but yeah if they do that then I'll might...
Read moreThe food? Disgusting! And the service? as hopeless as their food, they take a whole 90 minutes to prepare and serve you the most awful Indian food you would have eaten. The 5 star ratings, i have no clue at what terrible places these guys have dined at in the past. The waiter and the waitress have a serious short term memory loss issue and to add climax to their stupidity they also are alarmingly arrogant. It’s like both of them are the special child from tare zameen par.
Ask them why they take so long to serve the food.. they say they have only one chef, like that’s the customers problem 🤦🏻♂️ So they have one chef that has a talent to cook North Indian, South Indian, Indo Chinese and fusion Indian cuisine? Bruh some tapori Indian chef they’ve managed to smuggle from India and decided to run this joint.
An honest piece of advice to who ever is running this place, kindly return back to that little village of yours in India and don’t humiliate the South Indian cuisine with your hopeless ability to run...
Read moreI recently dined at this Indian restaurant Golden spoon in Heidelberg and had a mixed experience. The ambience was truly excellent, creating a pleasant atmosphere. The menu offered a wide variety of North and South Indian dishes, which was impressive. The waiter service was attentive and efficient. The even literally serve you with a golden coloured spoon of course it's not a real gold spoon 😃 but the golden spoon is attractive.
However, my dining experience was marred when I found an unexpected element in my dish, which was disappointing. What stood out to me was that the cook came out and personally apologized for the oversight. This level of accountability was appreciated, and it showed a commitment to customer satisfaction.
While the overall experience had its positive aspects, this incident left me with a less than favorable impression. I hope that the restaurant can improve its attention to food quality to match the high standards they set...
