Boutique Suites and Residences Heidelberg - Alte Zigarrenmanufaktur — Hotel in Heidelberg

We booked this for a short stop in Heidelberg after our flight from the US before further travel. We wanted to find accommodations that were more roomy than a standard hotel. What I didn’t realize when I booked the room was that it is not a full service hotel but rather more of a luxurious extended stay apartment ( in a beautifully refurbished former cigar factory!). And what a nice surprise: Gibreel contacted us ahead of time to inquire about any requests we’d have for stocking food; he greeted us promptly on arrival and was always available for help with anything we might need, day or night. He’d made a point not only to stock the fridge with our requested food, but to also make sure he left some freshly baked croissants from a local bakery! The 2 bedroom suite was modern, beautifully furnished, well equipped (full kitchen!) and perfectly maintained, in a very nice quiet neighborhood just about 1km from the Old Town. Our stay at Alte Zigarrenmanufaktur was simply amazing. We were very excited about this stay because of the gorgeous photos online, and the reality of the place did not disappoint. If anything, it was even BETTER than we were hoping. The building was quiet, located in a charming family neighborhood (West Town), and was furnished impeccably. Everything from the toiletries provided in the bathroom to the stocked kitchen to the electric darkening shades made for a very comfortable stay. They even provided a bottle of wine, several soft drinks, sparkling water, and chocolates in our room. We felt like we were actual residents of Heidelberg during our stay, which was such a great experience. We loved walking to the local bakery and to a restaurant a few blocks away - and Old Town (and Heidelberg Castle) was an easy 25 minute walk away. Tip top. The rooms are very beautiful and furnished with modern furniture. But what sets them apart from most hotel apartments is that they are equipped with very high standard electronics. Amazing for long term stays. I really enjoy the space.

Staff is incredibly friendly and thoughtful. Very professional. I had to transfer to another room while I wasnt present and the staff member in charge that day went above and beyond to transfer everything properly and even then with all the very heavy lifting still took the time to write me a very courteous letter with all instructions.

The location is quiet with the windows closed even with traffic and trains nearby. Great restaurants on the same street just 7-10 mins walk away.

The corridors smell lovely and it really gives the building a luxurious and comfortable ambiance.
