Our stay at Hilton Heidelberg turned out to be one of those hotel experiences where everything—from design and atmosphere to service and dining—came together in a way that made the visit feel special.
The hotel itself has clearly been renovated with great care, blending a modern style with nods to its historic roots. The lobby areas were bright, elegant, and welcoming, with tasteful lighting, fresh flowers, and stylish seating arrangements that gave a sense of both sophistication and comfort. It was the kind of first impression that immediately sets the tone for the rest of the stay.
As a Diamond member, we were delighted to receive an upgrade to a junior suite. The room was striking in both size and design. It had an airy, open feel with muted colors and plush carpets that created a calm atmosphere. The suite wasn’t just spacious—it was thoughtfully laid out, with a large and comfortable bed, a sitting area by the window that caught the morning light, and well-chosen furniture that felt contemporary yet warm. The bed itself was extremely comfortable, with high-quality linens and a headboard that added a touch of personality. Everything was spotless and felt fresh, adding to the overall impression of quality.
We also had a connecting twin rooms, which, although smaller, shared the same stylish décor with comfortable beds, a smart layout, and plenty of natural light through the large windows. Regardless of room category, the renovation has clearly lifted the hotel’s accommodation to a very high standard.
Executive rooms and suites also has a limited minibar included with selection of soft drinks and juices.
The executive lounge was another highlight. It offered a refined and quiet space to unwind, with a selection of drinks and snacks that were better than expected. (They also have evening coctails between 6-8 pm) The design mirrored the rest of the hotel’s sleek yet inviting style, making it a pleasant place to spend time. Whether stopping by in the morning for coffee or in the evening for something light, it felt like a valuable benefit that added to the overall experience.
Service throughout our stay was consistently attentive, and here I want to especially acknowledge the professionalism and friendliness of Ali-reza at the front desk supervisor. He combined efficiency with a genuine warmth that made us feel truly welcome and well taken care of. Encounters like this are what set a great hotel apart from just a good one, and his hospitality reflected the overall service culture at Hilton Heidelberg.
Breakfast in the glass-roofed atrium was an experience in itself. The setting was beautiful, filled with natural light and greenery, creating a lively yet relaxed atmosphere. It felt like having breakfast in a stylish café rather than a traditional hotel restaurant. The buffet selection was extensive and well-presented. Fresh fruits, cereals, and yoghurts with a wide variety of toppings were on one side, while hot options such as scrambled eggs, sausages, baked beans, and potatoes were served in generous portions. Ypu can also order egg or omelets of you want. The bread station stood out with an impressive range of freshly baked rolls and loaves, authentically German and truly delicious, complemented by a wide selection of pastries from croissants to cakes. There was also a good variety of cold cuts, cheeses, and salads for those who prefer a savory start to the day. Juices were fresh and nicely displayed, and the coffee machines offered everything from a simple espresso to cappuccino. Despite the breakfast room being busy, staff worked efficiently, refilling dishes and clearing tables quickly, ensuring that the atmosphere remained pleasant.
The combination of the elegant setting, the rich selection of food, and the attentive service made breakfast one of the highlights of the stay. It showed the same care and detail that was evident throughout the rest of the hotel.
I will definitely return to this...

Situated just a 5-minute walk from Heidelberg's historic Old Town, the Hilton Heidelberg opened its doors in December 2023 after a significant renovation, transforming the former Hotel Schrieder into a modern upscale hotel.
As the 8th Hilton-branded hotel in Germany, the Hilton Heidelberg boasts 244 stylish rooms and suites. As a Hilton Diamond member, I was assigned a One Bedroom Suite on the first floor. These suites feature a king-sized bed, a separate living room with workspace, an espresso machine, complimentary WiFi, two 55-inch HDTVs, a mini fridge with complimentary soft drinks and water, as well as access to the Executive Lounge.
Upon arrival, I was greeted in my suite with an exquisite welcome gift of chocolates accompanied by fresh berries, along with a heartfelt welcome letter. The bathrooms are equipped with a single sink, a rain shower, a separated toilet, and Crabtree & Evelyn by Hilton toiletries. Daily room cleaning is done with meticulous care.
Most of the hotel's rooms offer views of one of Heidelberg's most prominent streets, the Kurfürstenanlage, while my suite faced the peaceful inner courtyard. Schrieder's Restaurant & Bar, the hotel's only restaurant, offers a delightful blend of traditional German cuisine with modern touches, featuring hand-selected wines, creative cocktails, and a menu that highlights fresh, regional ingredients.
A delightful breakfast buffet is served at Schrieder's Restaurant, including a selection of cold cuts, smoked salmon, cheeses, yoghurts, cereals, pastries, spreads, different types of fruit, fruit juices, sparkling wine, and hot breakfast dishes. Complimentary hot à la carte dishes like scrambled eggs, omelettes, and Eggs Benedict are served to your table. Waffles can be freshly prepared at the buffet.
The ground-floor Executive Lounge offers an upscale, exclusive experience with all-day snacks, hot and cold beverages, as well as evening alcoholic drinks and canapés. Compared to other Hilton lounges, like the one at Hilton Munich, the evening food selection is simpler and more limited, but still perfectly fine for pairing with a glass of wine.
The Hilton Heidelberg offers a well-equipped 24-hour fitness center located on the first basement floor. It is currently one of the best choices for an upscale and convenient stay in the heart...
Read moreWe stayed at Hilton Heidelberg for five nights in March 2024.
The hotel has been recently renovated (December 2023) and it was absolutely noticeable! The interior design was modern and stylish. Our room was spotless, well-equipped, nicely decorated and relatively large. The bed was big and comfortable. Together with the blackout curtains, the comfy bed ensured a good night’s sleep. The bathroom was also modern and offered us sufficient comfort. Basically everything someone needs after a long day in the city or a day filled with meetings was available!
A comfortable room alone is not enough if the hotel does not offer proper dining options. No need to worry for that at Hilton Heidelberg: both breakfasts and dinners surpassed our expectations. All products offered were fresh and tasty and there were plenty of choice to suit everyone's preferences. From freshly baked pastries to made-to-order omelettes, every dish was prepared with care and attention to detail, ensuring a delightful start to each day.
What truly made our stay enjoyable was the exceptional staff! From the moment we walked in, the staff was very helpful and genuinely nice. From the warm welcome at check-in to the attentive service throughout our stay, every interaction with the staff was marked by professionalism, efficiency, and genuine warmth. Whether we needed recommendations for local attractions or assistance with any request, they went above and beyond to ensure that our needs were promptly met and every time with a big smile! For this reason, a special thanks to the front desk team, especially to Elias as well as to Santoshi, who made our stay very pleasant and memorable. Besides, our sincere compliments to the breakfast/dinner host team, especially to Sabina, who offered us excellent table service and made sure that we did not lack anything.
Last but not least: Hilton Heidelberg is very well located, within walking distance of all major attractions such as Hauptstrasse, Heidelberg Castle, the historical centre and the Old Bridge. The hotel is easily accessible by car as well and no need to worry about finding a parking spot. You can simply park your car in the underground parking of the hotel.
Overall, it was a very pleasant stay for us at Hilton Heidelberg and we highly recommend...
