Max Bar — Restaurant in Heidelberg

OLD VIBES CAN COST INCONVENIENCE

Max Bar is one of the old bars in Heidelberg Altstadt & it gives you those old skool vibes which feels good. I’ve visited there recently for some pints of beer. I was on my own so sit right at bar but they’ve got outdoor siting as well. This is type of bar in which you ordered one pint & then there are high chances that you ask for repeat (I mean, that’s the inner feeling at that time, sorry if i can’t explain it well). If you’re looking for classic german bars from 19th century, go on you’re right place but please bring some cash with you cuz they don’t accept cards (I also had a same face when i heard it first time), I also just walked in without asking them about payment method & then I’ve to go to nearest cash machine, so was bit awkward. Overall, it was great experience staff was good, service was spot on!...

Ci siamo voluti sistemare qui perché sembrava un bel locale , per potere prendere qualcosa da bere. Mi sono alzato mentre i miei amici prendevano posto , per andare in bagno , per educazione ho chiesto al barista dove si poteva andare per il bagno , mi ha guardato con aria stanca indicandomi ad una sua amica come se fossi un fenomeno da baraccone (non parlando il tedesco ho chiesto in inglese) mi ha risposto in tedesco molto probabilmente insultandomi e solo dopo mi ha detto dove si trovava. Bagno in condizioni penose , ci mancava solo un drogato che si stesse facendo di eroina. Posto pessimo , capendo la situazione ci siamo alzati e siamo andati nel locale a fianco.

PS: consiglio vivissimo per il mio caro amico barista , Impara ad essere più gentile e stare al mondo , il prossimo cliente che tratti male così non potrebbe essere gentile come lo sono stato io.

Wir wollten uns hier niederlassen, weil es nach einem netten Ort aussah, an dem wir etwas trinken konnten. Ich stand auf, während meine Freunde ihre Plätze einnahmen, um auf die Toilette zu gehen, aus Höflichkeit fragte ich den Barkeeper, wo wir auf die Toilette gehen könnten, er schaute mich müde an und zeigte auf einen seiner Freunde, als ob ich ein Freak wäre (ich sprach kein Deutsch und fragte auf Englisch), er antwortete mir auf Deutsch, wahrscheinlich um mich zu beleidigen, und sagte mir erst danach, wo die Toilette war. Badezimmer in schlechtem Zustand, alles was ich brauchte war ein Junkie, der Heroin nimmt. Sehr schlechter Ort, wir verstanden die Situation und gingen in den Club nebenan.

PS: herzlicher Rat für meinen lieben Barkeeper Freund, lernen Sie netter zu sein und in der Welt zu sein, der nächste Kunde, den Sie so schlecht behandeln, könnte nicht so nett sein wie ich es war.

We wanted to set up here because it looked like a nice place , to be able to get something to drink. I got up while my friends were taking their seats , to go to the bathroom , out of politeness I asked the bartender where we could go to the bathroom , he looked at me tiredly pointing at one of his friends as if I were a freak (not speaking German I asked in English) he answered me in German most likely insulting me and only afterwards told me where it was. Bathroom in miserable condition, all that was missing was a junkie doing heroin. Very bad place, understanding the situation we got up and went to the club next door.

PS: heartfelt advice for my dear bartender friend , learn to be nicer and be in the world , the next customer you treat badly like this could not be as...

During our visit to your bar on , one of my friends unfortunately got sick near the restroom. While we understand this was unpleasant, the staff's reaction was unnecessarily rude. We were told to clean it ourselves, handed the bill immediately, and asked to leave all in a disrespectful tone.
