TLDR; Avoid this place at all cost. Vermeiden Sie diesen Ort um jeden Preis. 요약; 최악
I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Restaurant Korea (한국관), and I must say it was an extremely disappointing visit. From the lackluster food to the poor service, this restaurant left a lot to be desired.
Firstly, I was drawn to the restaurant's outdoor seating area, which boasted a great view of the Die Heiliggeistkirche (Church of the Holy Spirit). However, the view was the only positive aspect of the entire experience.
Upon being seated, my girlfriend and I ordered Galbitang (Short rib soup), Hot stone Bibimbap, and 2 Cola Zeros. The food arrived promptly, which wasn't surprising considering there were only two other parties in the restaurant at the time.
My disappointment began with the side dish of Kimchi, which was completely tasteless. As someone who appreciates authentic Korean cuisine, it was disheartening to receive such a poorly executed version of this popular dish.
Things went from bad to worse when I received my Galbitang. Instead of the clear soup base I was expecting, the soup was covered with eggs. Traditionally, Galbitang does not include eggs cooked inside the soup; they are usually used as decoration or a finishing touch. The soup itself was overly salty and tasted nothing like the flavorful Galbitang I have enjoyed elsewhere.
To add insult to injury, the amount of meat in the soup was shockingly insufficient. For a lunch menu priced at 14 euros (or 16 euros normally), the portion was embarrassingly small. The meat itself had a strange smell, inconsistent texture, and was poorly cut into tiny pieces. It was a far cry from the generous servings found in most other restaurants, even those catering to children. There were literally more raddish than meat itself.
To make matters worse, our drinks were forgotten until the end of our meal. It was only when we were finished eating that the server realized we hadn't received our drinks. The lack of attention to detail and forgetfulness were indicative of the overall incompetence of the staff.
When it was time to settle the bill, the owner approached us with an iPad. He immediately questioned whether I had ordered Galbitang and proceeded to ask for 32 euros instead of the expected 30 euros. It was a bewildering and unnecessary exchange, considering I had clearly ordered from the lunch menu. This incident made me suspect that the owner deliberately tries to overcharge unsuspecting customers who don't double-check their bills.
As I expressed my dissatisfaction, I informed the owner that I would be paying with a credit card. This prompted him to double-check and fetch the card machine from inside. When I requested a receipt, he informed me that it was inside and insinuated that I should retrieve it myself. I firmly asked him to bring it out, as it was his responsibility to provide it.
In conclusion, I strongly advise everyone to avoid Restaurant Korea (한국관) at all costs. The poor service and subpar food make it an establishment unworthy of anyone's time and money. As someone with extensive experience of Korean cuisine, both in my home country and abroad, I can confidently say that this was the worst Korean restaurant I have ever visited. It is a shame that unsuspecting diners may mistakenly assume that this restaurant represents authentic Korean cuisine, as it does not reflect the true quality of Korean food.
I sincerely hope that my review serves as a warning to others and encourages them to seek alternative...
Read moreI was craving for Korean, we visited a few restaurants in the area but they are all busy. As it was still hot in the afternoon, we deceived to choose this restaurant in the end since it did not look so crowded, less hot we hoped.
▪︎Atmosphere: The place has nice decorations and clean. Spacious and less hot inside the restaurant.
▪︎Experience: We ordered the dakbulgogi and the dwaejibulgogi. We arrived when the restaurant was quite, not many people there. Inside there were 2 more 3 more tables of people excluding mine. It took so long for the food to come out. I was fixated on the time because I kept checking the time. We were both exhausted from the heat, tired and hungry. I just wanted some comfort food. The waiting did not help. I think we did wait more than an hour for the food.
When the food finally arrived, the first bite dwaejibulgogi just made all the hunger went away, my pork was all in broken in small pieces, it felt like more shred pork??? Please correct me if I am wrong but should not it be thin sliced. At least that what I know of this dish. My boyfriend's dish was fine but not his favorite he said. As we both disappointed, we had a few more bites, did not finish the food. Which is very rare honestly 🥲 (we got leftover to go of course, can't waste food).
♡In sum up: I simply hated the experience, the food and the waiting. Maybe other dishes might taste better. Or other days they have better service. However, I for sure wont come back to find out if it is the case or not. I won't recommend this place to people either. It is my opinion,...

This is one of the best Korean restaurants I've ever eaten at in Europe. Thanks to my many travels, I can safely say I've experienced Korean cuisine. It's truly excellent. The service was also very friendly. I was visiting for a weekend and even dined there twice. I also had the pleasure of meeting Korean tourists. We had two wonderful evenings. If I'm ever in the area, I'll definitely go back. Most of the tourists sitting in the churchyard don't know what they're missing. Highly recommended, even for those unfamiliar with Korean cuisine.
I have taken my time to translate my dutch text in German/English, because this restaurant and its...
