Salerno’s - Italian Restaurant — Restaurant in Heidelberg

Not the best experience I've had,

called to make a reservation for 7.30, arrived a little early. We were then shown to a table that seated 4, we were five but that was no problem as we were waiting for the other table to finish up and leave.

The table of people didn't leave the restaurant until 8.10.. meaning our group sat 40 minutes at a very uncomfortable table that was too small for us.. Instead of the waiter asking the table of people to leave , he just let them move at their own pace.

I don't usually complain about such things but when the waiter just dropped the check on the table and left without saying anything, I then felt like he was angry at us . For what? Asking if we could be seated at in the place we reserved for?!

Food was great, very nice atmosphere inside but the waiter needs to stick to reservation times and try be a little to friendlier to his customers

Salerno's ist ein Traum für alle, besonders für Gäste mit Zöliakie! ​Das Ristorante Salerno in Heidelberg hat uns auf ganzer Linie überzeugt und verdient ohne Abzug volle 5 Sterne.

​Wir hatten unseren Tisch abends online reserviert und waren etwa 15 Minuten später da. Die Begrüßung war sehr freundlich und bwohl das Restaurant ziemlich voll war, haben wir unseren Tisch sofort bekommen. Auf unsere Nachfrage hin bekamen wir sogar einen ruhigeren Tisch für zwei in einer gemütlichen Ecke, in der oberen Etage, zugewiesen. Das war schon mal ein toller Start.

​Die Atmosphäre im Salerno ist sehr schön, die Dekoration ( sicherlich Geschmackssache ) hat uns sehr gut gefallen und wir haben uns sofort wohl gefühlt. Der Service war super freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Personal hat immer wieder nachgefragt, ob alles in Ordnung ist.

​Besonders hervorzuheben und der Grund , warum wir dieses Resort ausgesucht haben, ist das sehr gute Angebot für Gäste mit Zöliakie. Die bestellte glutenfreie Pasta und die glutenfreie Pizza waren absolut super lecker! ​Die Pasta war perfekt al dente, die Soße hatte eine tolle Konsistenz und schmeckte wirklich gut. ​Die Pizza hatte einen perfekten Boden, dünn, knusprig und war großzügig mit frischen und hochwertigen Produkten belegt. Von der Größe her, wie "normale" Pizza. Es machte auch überhaupt kein Problem, dass ich einen Belag austauschen wollte. Weder am Geschmack noch an der Konsistenz haben wir einen Unterschied zu "normalen" Gerichte festgestellt. ​ Als Krönung gibt es sogar glutenfreie Tiramisu. Diese haben wir allerdings nicht probiert, aber für Zöllis was Besonderes.

​Insgesamt merkt man, dass alle Zutaten frisch und von sehr guter Qualität sind. Auch der große Salat am Nachbartisch sah wunderbar aus. Werden wir beim nächsten Besuch auf jeden Fall bestellen.

​Fazit: Wer in Heidelberg wirklich gute, italienische Küche, sehr aufmerksamen und freundlichen Service, sowie eine tolle Atmosphäre sucht, ist im Ristorante Salerno goldrichtig. Selbst wenn man Zölliakie hat. Danke an das Team im Solerno. Wir kommen definitiv wieder und freuen uns jetzt...

We went to this restaurant for the 20th birthday of a close friend. We didn’t tell the waiters of the birthday but we were still well served. We did have to wait quite a long time for them to clean all our dishes and consequently to order a dessert, although I was the only one who ordered one. Because I live quite far away, I had to leave early to catch my last bus, which apparently really confused our waiter, as she took a really long time to get my bill ready and pressed my friends to pay, even though they didn’t want to leave yet.
