Marzipan-Speicher am Holstentor — Restaurant in Lübeck

Its a shame we could not buy anything from this branch.

1st time when we went there (today 23 Feb 16.45) I was eyeing the Marzipan cake and almost immediately the guy behind the counter insistently proposed "theres a bigger better branch, few mins away" . I was a bit taken back but we decided to check the other branch out and when we reached there, there was no marzipan cake so we bought some marzipan chocolates. We went back 17.44 to this branch to get the cake (as take away) and the same guy refused to give it to us saying we can not buy anything any more as they are closing in 15 mins and everything is packed away.

Extremely wierd experience!!

Makes me think either the person is lazy or a disgruntled employee, hell bent on making no sale for...

Parken ist keine Möglichkeit dort vorhanden, aber es ist ein schöner Spaziergang vom Tor zum Marzipanspeicher. Nette Verkäufer dort im Geschäft und ist von innen und außen schön gemacht. Außen stehen ein paar Tische und Stühle, aber leider kein Sonnenschirm dort gewesen bei Sonnenschein. Drinnen dreht sich natürlich alles um Marzipan. Mann kann dort Kuchen, Marmelade, Likör, Dekoartikel, Nudeln und vieles andere kaufen. Alles mit Marzipan oder von Marzipan. Beim Eingang bekommt man dann etwas Marzipan zum testen. Es schmeckt sehr gut und haben auch vieles dort eingekauft. Die Preise sind sehr gut und Qualität ist auch sehr gut. Wenn man dort etwas kauft bekommt man noch einen Gutschein und kann man dort im Kaffee einlösen. Was wir sehr Empfehlen können sind die Baiser mir Haselnüssen. Hatten uns erst eins gekauft mit einem Kaffee und haben direkt noch 1 dazu gekauft. Sind dann noch mal ins Geschäft und haben uns 3 Beutel davon gekauft. Man kann dort auch eine Besichtigung machen, aber leider waren wir zur falschen Zeit dort. Beim nächsten mal. Wenn wir noch mal da sind, dann werden wir es auf jedenfall wieder Besuchen und kann es nur jeden Empfehlen.

There is no parking available, but it is a nice walk from the gate to the marzipan store. Nice, friendly seller in the shop and is done from inside and outside nicely. Outside are a few tables and chairs, but unfortunately no sunshade there in sunshine. Inside, everything revolves around marzipan. You can buy cakes, jam, liqueurs, decorative items, nudles and many other things. All with and from marzipan. At the entrance you get some marzipan to test. It tasted very good and also bought a lot there. The prices are very good and quality is also very good. If you buy something there you become a voucher and can be redeemed there in the coffeeshop. What we can highly recommend are the meringues hazelnuts. Had bought first one with a coffee and bought directly 1 more. Going then again in the business and have bought us 3 bags of it. You can do a sightseeing, but unfortunately we were there at the wrong time. Next time we try. If we are there again, we will definitely visit again and recommend...

I visited Marzipan Speicher in Lübeck, Germany. They have an amazing collection of chocolates and cakes. The ambiance is awesome with its old-fashioned architecture, giving it a cozy shop feel. We bought some local sweets, and they were truly delicious. Prices are a little expensive, but the quality and service are excellent. The staff was very service-minded.
