Niederegger - arcades Cafe — Restaurant in Lübeck

This is the worst cafe experience I’ve ever been to in my entire life. After waiting for more than 30 minutes to receive any attention. I tried to ask to the manager (!!!) of the place what is the password for wifi. She said I have no idea, as if I had asked a crazy question. Another waitress came by and the manager asked if they had internet at all: the waitress replied that it doesn’t work! Not a problem… when a third waitress came finally to take the order I asked if really wifi didn’t work since I could see the signal. She gave me the password and I got connected. I asked thy manager WHY I was treated without care and I told her what the pass word was in case somebody else asked for it. She replied in a very annoyed way and walked away from me. I than reminded her that this is not exactly the way to treat a client and immediately I was literally attacked by one waiter with (probably) middle eastern origins and tattooed all over confronting me with a very aggressive tone of voice and continuously asking “what’s your problem? What’s your problem?” And than with a threatening tone of voice “Go back to your place and wait for your order!”). I was shocked and obviously I left. I could probably take this incident to the attention of local authorities, but it’s not even worth to stretch this horrible experience even more. I just hope someone in the top management of this chain will read this and do something about it. I’m shocked by this rudeness and dangerous threatening towards a costumer that simply asked to be taken care of: that’s why it’s called...

The ice cream stand in the café, where you can buy some ice cream from the outside, has a serious hygiene issue. The lady that prepares the ice cream, handles both your ice cream ( no napkin! ) and your cash. I noticed that she has hand disinfectant hanging at the wall, but she didn't use it inbetween she handled the coins and the ice cream cones. They do not accept card payment, and the lady was complaining over, that nobody had small change, and that she was running out of coins. Yeah well, then try to accept card payment, that would make everything much easier, both for the staff and the customers and stop complaining. The ice cream scoops were tiny and actually pretty expensive. No thank you. Will not visit this café again.

Ein typischer Touristen-Hotspot. Lohnt es sich also? Und wenn ja, warum?

Standort: Niederegger hat mehrere Standorte in Lübeck im Umkreis von rund 1km würde ich sagen. Dieses Café bzw. dieser Store hat mir aber von der Aufmachung am besten gefallen und zudem hat hier auch "alles begonnen". Von daher ist es nur sinnvoll hier einmal einen Blick und Kaffee zu riskieren 🌼

Atmosphäre Durch das Licht, die hohen Wände, das Holz und der weite Blick auf zahlreiches Marzipan in schön ausgestalteten Anrichtungen usw. habe ich mich hier doch recht schnell wohlgefühlt und hatte Spaß daran die verschiedenen Geschenkpackungen, Sorten, Farben, Geschmäcker, etc. zu erkunden. Für mich, wie auch für den zu Beschenken was auszusuchen fiel mir durch die große Auswahl tatsächlich etwas schwer. Aber allein zum Gucken - auch ohne Kauf - lohnt sich ein Blick! Außerdem finde ich es schön, dass je nach Jahreszeit auch im Schaufenster verschiedene Marzipandekoration handgemacht gestaltet wird. Mal abgesehen davon hat es natürlich Charme, wenn man in so einem alten Gebäude steht, wo schon seit so langer Zeit Marzipan verkauft wird...

Personal: Die Mitarbeiter waren freundlich und zuvorkommend. Durch eine große Anzahl von Menschen (es war nicht ZU VOLL) natürlich auch sehr beschäftigt. Ich empfand die Bedienung auch als sehr flott und aufmerksam

Hygiene: Sehr sauber

Essen: Wir waren, nachdem wir uns ausgiebig im Store umgeschaut haben, dann spontan noch im Café oben drüber. Hier gefällt mir die Gestaltung ganz besonders gut, da das Cafe so einen alten Flair versprüht ... dies liegt hauptsächlich an den absolut schicken, old school Möbeln! Die Torten sind wirklich sehr lecker. Es gibt angenehm viel Auswahl (Torten, Kuchen, kleine Desserts...) fur einen wie ich finde sehr guten Preis, wenn man die Location, die Populär und die Größe des Tortenstücks bedenkt. Auch der Kaffee und Kakao war sehr lecker. Ich hatte einen mit Marshmallows! 💕 Der Kaffee mit Marzipan schmeckt auch gut aber leider so gut wie gar nicht nach Marzipan, wie wir fanden. Vielleicht sind auch unsere Geschmacksnerven nicht fein genug 🤔🤠 Von daher würde ich diesen dann nicht nochmal aussuchen Aber die Kuchen die ihr auf den Fotos seht haben alle samt gut geschmeckt!
