Café Luise — Restaurant in Leipzig

When I discovered Cafe Luise last year, I was thrilled and kept coming back - it quickly became my favourite café/bar in Leipzig. The ambience, the broad spectrum of different drinks (even moctails) and the food options, as well as the different seating areas (the bar itself, the little nooks, the outside seating). I went there for drinks with my friends, celebrated my birthday, took my parents for dinner and drinks whenever they visited me in Leipzig. However, in the past few months, I've been having increasingly worse and worse experiences. I never write reviews, but yesterday evening tipped me over to write one. Me and my friends spent about four hours in the bar and have been attended by the waiters about 3 times - and getting them to the table to be able to order felt like a fighting for attention, even though the restaurant wasn't full and there was plenty of staff. We waited long periods of time to order, for our drinks (how long does it take to mix a basic shot?), and even for our check. Whenever signalled to a waiter or waitress that we would like to order something, we've been waved off as "someone will come in a minute", only to be left waiting for ten minutes and more. The feeling of this experience - being almost ignored and not attended to properly - left us feeling very disappointed and not really wanting to go back. My first experience wasn’t the best but my opinion of this place has gradually improved. I like hanging out with here with friends the cocktails are good. Although the food isn’t special if you’re not a picky eater you won’t notice any short comings.

OLDER REVIEW Totally underwhelmed ! Café Creme without creme. Breakfast for two served with canned fruit salad and pieces of tasteless salami and Schinken spread on a huge plate, when all easily fits in a coffee plate but they do give you a fair share of butter: Thanks for this amazing breakfast.

My experience was bad as i had high expectations, yours might not be. The server forgot our order so i was delayed for a while. Also other things on the menu might be better. Never order breakfast for two!

Also this place can’t decide if it wants to be a bar or a restaurant. Why is there a bar here and bar music playing when you call yourself...

I have only been here once but I probably won't visit it again. The food: I ordered a "breakfast for two". The quantity of each side was just enough to cover one slice of bread but not two. The eggs came without salt. The fruits were weirdly mushy and bland as if they used to be caned fruits. The service: The service personnel was very friendly and I believe they did their best. But it was too crowded for them to handle. For each little order or question we had to wait a long time. Once they forgot our order and we had to remind them. The ambient: At first it looked like a cozy place. But after a while the noice of the crowd became annoying. The music was suitable for a bar or disco at night since it was some instrumental pop with beat. But not so suitable for a breakfast at a cafe. All in all it was a weird mixture of cafe,...
