2025 Update: Over the years I've developed some experience of fake paella done at home with frozen mixed vegetables and turmeric and sadly noted some suspicious similarities.

The vegetarian paella I had at the restaurant was quite crusty on the bottom like it should be, otherwise it would be just rice and vegetables. However, the same shade of yellow was also present in the side rice of a fellow diner of mine, making me wonder whether the paella had real safran or not. The bread with aioli during the wait was this time very pale and mushy and indeed coming from a plastic bag. At least make the effort to toast it a bit. I hope it's not the same used for the tapas that you have to order and pay for. I hope it was just a bad day, also sad because there was no Estrella Galicia beer, but the replacement was a good German Hefeweizen from tap. That, although being on tap, they didn't want to pour a 0.3, probably due to the lack of glasses (that exist nevertheless). I must unfortunately lower the score of my review. First review from 2023: I have zero paella experience and ordered the meat one. It took a while to arrive -- almost one hour -- but given the preparation method it's quite reasonable. The house offered bread, olives and aioli appetizers to kill the wait. They were OK, the bread a bit anonymous if you ask me. Coming from a mediterranean country myself, I've seen nicer bread. I'm not sure whether chicken breast skewers belong to a meat paella but nevertheless were a bit dry. But that's unfortunately an intrinsic downside of chicken meat. So perhaps using more tighs from the chicken or the rabbit (was there any at all?) would result in juicer meat. The chorizo sausage was nice and a good source of flavor for the dish, as well as the Estrella lager beer that...

I've read some negative reviews of Andalucia and from my experiences, I don't know why! I love this restaurant and go often -- I live nearby and find myself often in the mood for Paella and Tapas. Their business hours are from 5pm to 5am, it's a great place with a great ambiance to go for some tasty Spanish food and wine. They have a lovely patio that is covered in vines. The wait staff has been nothing but pleasant to me, sometimes slow, but it's part of the ambiance. I find it nice not to have a waiter breathing down your neck, but be sure to catch their attention when you need something. I particularly like to owner, he's always there and is so gracious to us.

About the food: The aioli is very garlicy, which I love, so I am a big fan. I also like their tapas, but I haven't tried everything, but without fail, I always order bacon wrapped dates (yum). I need to go through more of their menu, because I haven't tried more than the tapas and paelle, but it's just so good that I can't help it. It's not a place to go for a cocktail, but their wine pairs nice with their food, so I typically stick to a nice dry red.

I really like it at Andalucia and take visiting friends often. I would recommend it to others.

Ein Stern ist schon zu viel für dieses sogenannte spanische Restaurant. Aber null Sterne gibt es ja nicht. Unser spanischer Gast wollte schon die spanischen Fahnen dort abhängen, weil das kein Aushängeschild für spanische Küche ist. Als wir ankamen waren nur 3 kleine Tische belegt. Wir haben 3 Hauptgänge und 5 Vorspeisen bestellt. Es kam kurz nach den Getränken das Weissbrot mit Oliven und Aioli, dass man vorab immer bekommt. War aber sehr sehr fettig. Nicht wie man es in Spanien kennt. Aber war okay. Dann füllte sich das Lokal langsam. An unserem Tisch passierte in der nächsten Stunde überhaupt nichts mehr. Alle nachfolgenden Gäste erhielten ihre Tappas oder was immer sie auch bestellt hatten, aber bei uns standen noch die leeren Teller von dem Aioli. Wir wurden nicht mehr bedient. Unsere Gläser waren schon lange leer. Nach dieser Stunde habe ich mich gewagt mal höflich nachzufragen wie lange das Essen wohl noch dauert und gleichzeitig noch was zu trinken bestellt, Durst hatten wir ja auch. Böser Fehler, denn die unfreundliche Bedienung wurde sofort schnippisch, es würde gleich kommen, sie könne auch ihre Mutter schicken und ging weg. Ich war sprachlos. Prompt kam dann auch die Mutter=Chefin und ging gleich auf uns los. Machte aus einer einfachen Frage eine Grundsatzdiskussion, die wir gar nicht führen wollten. Wir hatten nur Hunger. Ironie anIch wusste ja nicht, dass es verboten ist, höflich zu fragen, wann das Essen kommt...Ironie aus Unser spanischer Gast, der dabei war, lieferte sich dann noch ein Wortgefecht auf spanisch mit ihr, da sie da keinerlei Einsicht hatte, total überheblich war und das wir eben warten müssen. Weitere 30 Min vergingen. Wir hatten immernoch Hunger. Als dann das Essen nach 1 1/2 Stunden endlich kam, war es lauwarm und absolut schlechte Qualität. Von 5 bestellten Vorspeisen, kamen nur 3, davon war 1 falsch und die Hauptgerichte kamen gleich dazu. Wo gibts denn sowas? Trotz Nachfrage haben wir die fehlenden Vorspeisen nicht bekommen. Man wollte uns sichtlich loswerden, obwohl wir uns nicht mal über das Essen beschwert haben. Aber nur deshalb nicht, weil wir nicht nochmal wollten, dass die Mutter auf uns losgeht. Danach hatten wir auch absolut keine Lust mehr und bestellten sofort die Rechnung..... Total überzogene Preise und Überraschung....die fehlenden Vorspeisen waren natürlich mit berechnet.... Und wenn jetzt ein Kommentar dieser Chefs auf meine Rezession kommt.....Ich ARBEITE auch in der Gastronomie und ich wäre schon lange arbeitslos, wenn ich so mit den Gästen rumspringen würde wie dort. Mein Chef würde das nie und nimmer tolerieren. Das ist absolut unprofessionell und gästeunfreundlich. Ein freundliches "Tut mir leid, dass es so lange dauert, aber die Küche kommt nicht nach" ist ein freundlicher Satz mit großer Wirkung und hätte es getan. Dafür hätte man Verständnis gehabt, aber nicht so. Und dass das Personal und die Chefs unfreundlich sind, kann man in vielen Rezessionen nachlesen. Nie mehr. Und nicht zu empfehlen. Selbst unser spanischer Gast hatte sich geschämt, denn die spanische Küche ist lecker, nur dort...
