Rheinterrassen Gasthaus am Fluss — Restaurant in Mannheim

The location and vibe of the place is excellent. It's right on the banks of Rhine river with a vast span of green lawn in front of it. But the food here shockingly is a BIG disappointment. We had spinach ravioli and chicken with fries. All the food tasted as if it has been prepared hours ago and simply re-heated before being served. French fries were especially the give away. They were stale hard and chewy, rather than being juicy. Some of the worst fries that I have had. The other food tasted the same and seemed stale. Also, the portion of food was really small especially given the price.

If you simply want to sit here with the drink and enjoy the outdoors on a sunny day, then this place is good. If you want to have a meal, I'd suggest rather go to some fast food joints in the Manheim central station,...

We were very surprised by this place. Location was a but odd to find as its not near any major road but it is right by the riverbank eith lofs if green areas around. In summer is just fantastic. The place itself is huge, able to accommodate 100+ guests although some areas are closed at times, understandably so. A great place to organize a party. The service was capable, friendly, quick and helpful. The food was delicious with a very wide range of choices. The prices were on average or slightly above average but the quality of the food was completely worth it. Menu focuses mostly on german cuisine, so it's a great place to take visitors. All in all a great experience and definitely a place to visit if you are in the area and have the opportunity to do so; especially...

We went there for a family lunch today. The setting is lovely, along the rhine with a nice view over the river, the restaurant is nicely decorated, the staff is polite and the service is ok. The food on the other hand is terrible. I had ordered the goats cheese stuffed ravioli with sage butter. The whole dish was absolutely bland and tasted literally of nothing. Not even a hint of goats cheese or sage was to be detected. My wife had ordered the octopus salad, which was ok, but really nothing special, very bland and lacking any seasoning and creativity, my grandmother chose the vegan ravioli with mushroom stuffing she also felt, that the entire dish lacked seasoning and aroma.

I will not be back and cannot recommend this...
