Haferkater, Mannheim Hbf — Restaurant in Mannheim

🌟 Very happy I found it during my quick stopover! It’s located in the lower floor of the station!

I’m a huge fan of Haferkater, ever since I stumbled upon the first store in Halle during Christmas 2022. Will give this one 4.5 Stars.

☕ Bought a cappuccino with oat milk and the grilled veggie bread (vegan). Paid 9,20€ for both as I got charged for a large cappuccino (4.75€) instead of a small (3.75€).

🍰 The bowls or the carrot bread are both delicious!

🌱 Taste is fantastic. I looove the vegan cheese they use (Violife, made from coconut instead of cashews) and the pairing with the tomato spread, fresh tomatoes, herbs, and pickles is just perfect.

🏡The seating area is such a nice surprise! It’s cozy and comfy, with tables, couches, and even fresh flowers! It feels like a little oasis in the middle of the busy train station.

📋 If you follow a clean diet or have specific food restrictions, just ask the staff — they can print out a full list of ingredients within seconds. 👍

A few suggestions for the owners:

1️⃣ It would be amazing if you could add ingredients to your website. 🌐

2️⃣ Please consider using raw sugar instead of refined for your carrot and banana bread - and how about a new, gluten-free option with buckwheat 🍞✨

I love getting my morning coffee at Haferkafer, not only because they have the only proper coffee at MA Hbf and I’m obsessed with their carrot cake, but because here I feel the relationship between the customer and the owners is not transactional, I’m not being called“die nächste, bitte”, people working here see me and although they’re busy and I’m in a rush, but still they take time to exchange a smile, say good morning, give an extra piece of cake and an unexpected discount. At the beginning I was worried that they have beautiful fresh flowers on the counter for the store opening but still every time I pass by the store, I see the vase tastefully designed with flowers. These small things might seem unimportant but they always cheer me up. If you are someone who cares about the quality and priceless moments in everyday life, rather than checking the price tags and saving 1-2 euros, you should definitely become...

I like to grab breakfast here. It is one of a very few shops where you can buy porridge for breakfast. But this time I came in the afternoon and I treated myself to a small cappuccino with oat milk and to a banana cake with walnuts. I liked that banana cake. It was not too sweet. It is perfect that they sell the cappuccino with oatmilk and not with some other weird milk alternatives. I would...
