I was super excited to check out Die Goldene Bar after seeing photos online, the design looks superb. Unfortunately, the overall ambiance is not what I hoped for. While the space itself is absolutely stunning with the golden walls, nice bar and the large distressed wood communal table, the rest of the tables and dining chairs cheapen the look of the venue. The table tops were veneered and the dining chairs upholstered in black synthetic leather with chrome legs, absolutely did not match the interior architecture or do justice to this unique setting. We went for a daytime drink and they were not serving cocktails other than long drinks since their mixologist doesn't work during the day. Again, a bit of a shame since they are a cocktail bar that is open during daytime so I would expect to be able to order a cocktail! There was no music and the place simply lacked ambiance, which was such a disappointment given that the space itself is beautiful and the location is right behind the Brandhorst Museum in a gorgeous heritage building. I ended up ordering a Moscow Mule, which was not bad but nothing to be excited about, so I’m not sure if I would necessarily rush back.

Cool interior, which is pretty extra, but not too much, one can spend an hour looking at the maps on the walls, very entertaining. Cocktails were top-notch and are to recommend, especially Singapore Sling and Kyoto one, bartenders know what they are doing. Unfortunately service is fluctuating. First they have placed us at a teeny-tiny table between two other occupied tables, where you cannot even properly take a sit dir to space restrictions without bothering other guests. And it’s with having 3 empty tables right opposite! When I politely asked whether we could switch, I got a response “sorry, but no, we hold those 3 in case a bigger group comes”. Completely understandable, until a couple of people casually walks in and takes this seat, with no questions asked 🤣 Overall staff were frequently checking in on us, so here i can’t complain. Food limited, it’s either a sandwich or a main, almost no snacks/small bites, don’t come too hungry.

the staff: very bad, not polite, messed up our order twice, though we ordered only two cappuccino and a cocktail the waiter made us pay for three cappuccinos, though we had two, good that we noticed. when we complained about it, the waiter said "Nice. We're easy" what does it even mean, bro? You think this is good service? drinks: coffee was ok, cocktail was disgusting. the place was pricy, thought the atmosphere was cool. hire new staff lil bros, fire the existing one, they don't do their job as needed. I don't know the name, but it was a black haired guy with a medium length haircut

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This location deserves 10 stars for many reasons!

For one: It‘s a multicultural meeting point with fantastic drinks and a very cozy atmosphere! ♥️

Food and Music are really good, too! You‘ll also get free nuts with your drink and the volume is perfect for a decent conversation. 👍

But the main reason this bar deserves 10 stars is also the same reason a lot of racists are downvoting this place. 😢

FYI: In 2018 a female politician from a racist party was politely asked to leave the location as the bar would never be able to meet her standards and would not fit her discriminating believes, considering the multicultural and international staff. In other words: they don’t serve racists. She left, returning with lawyers and with only one thing in mind: destroying this great and brave gastronomy. So, please keep in mind: 🙏🏻 the downvoters and haters here are likely to be members of the same party!😡

Sadly enough, the building in which the bar is located, was built by Hitler. It was not torn down, because it was one of the only buildings not destroyed by the last heavy bombing end of WW2. The US forces/Allies needed offices with electricity, light, water and heating. This building was the only suitable one. After the allies left, decision was made to turn this building into an international art museum, supporting different cultures and providing scholarships for minorities. This makes this building a very delicate and fragile place. People with hostility against any other humans are just not welcome. That’s basically the point the bar chef made and gracefully asked this politician to leave. 👍👍👍

This place is definitely worth visiting! Sooooo many interesting cocktails, you never have heard of...

Was zuerst kommt.
