The Diana Temple is the centre monument at the Hofgarten north of Residenz and an interesting thing to see if you plan to spend time in the garden before or after visiting the Residence.

What you will see is an early 17th-century, Renaissance style gazebo with eight arches and a dome topped by a bronze figure of Tellus, the female symbolic figure and secular patroness of Bavaria. The interior of the gazebo features a patterned floor and shelled fountains embedded in the closed arch sections.

Overall, The Diana Temple is an interesting historical structure to see. Give it a few minutes if you find yourself in Hofgarten and enjoy this type of sightseeing during...

The Diana Temple is in the Munich Hofgarten, was created in 1613-1617 in Italian  style together with the Hofgarten  and goes back to  Maxillian I, Elector of Bavaria. The temple forms the center of the garden On it is a famous bronze figure, a copy of the Bavaria bronze statue of Hubert Gerhard. The bronze figure that crowns the roof was created in 1594 by Hans Krumpper and symbolizes the riches of Bavaria. Dianatempel is a charming and elegant pavilion located in the heart of Munich’s Hofgarten. Built in the early 17th century, this twelve-sided structure, dedicated to the Roman goddess Diana, is a beautiful example of Renaissance architecture. Surrounded by manicured gardens and walking paths, it’s a peaceful retreat from the city’s hustle. At the center of the temple stands a striking bronze statue of Bavaria, adding to its artistic appeal. If you’re lucky, you might even catch musicians playing under the dome, as the acoustics make it a favorite spot for street performers.
