Königsquelle — Restaurant in Munich

not friendly at all if you don't speak German. I would not recommend this restaurant. I've heard the food is good but the staff was extremely rude to the women in our group. I understand it is our fault for not speaking the native language, but a few things they should change: 1) the food menu is illegible; 2) don't recommend the three most expensive items on the illegible food list when asked for a recommendation; 3) when there is a clear language barrier, don't slam the menu shut on a woman and then speak broken English , thinking that we came in here to steal bottled water and bread. We offered to pay for the water and bread and you refused to accept it. Perhaps this waiter was having a bad day but this was the worst customer service I have seen in the world. We came because we read that the bartender is a whisky expert. When we entered we got the feeling like we didn’t belong. Very cold and unwelcoming. We were seated though. The menu is handwritten in script font and then photo copied. Makes it very hard to read let alone Google Translate. When asked about local whisky we were told it doesn’t exist when we know that Slyrs is a German whisky. Bartender used the characteristic “smooth” as an opposite of “peated” which is how you treat newbies to whisky. There was no attempt to talk to us or share his actual knowledge of whisky which is what they’re known for. We left without trying food because we felt so unwelcome. Absolt delicious! Eventhough it doesn't look as inviting from the outside it is very cosy and comfortable inside. Dark wood meets new style. The staff was very friendly and looked after us without being in your face all the time. The menue is something special. We had schnitzel with potato salad and white asparagus, young deer with mash, tuna with wasabi sauce, a starter plate and carpaccio. Everything was just perfect. The tuna and the starter plate something very different and out of the ordinary. The deer tender and perfectly roasted. The schnitzel something you only find in austria that good.
