PACIFIC TIMES — Restaurant in Munich

I visited Pacific Times with my husband over the holidays as it was highly recommended to us. Upon arrival we were very impressed, communicating this also to our waiter.

We had a few cocktails then tried to get the check. Our waiter was nowhere to be seen, so I had no choice but to go ask for the check at the counter. At this moment he of course appeared, we paid and left.

As we got out of the door two staff members came after us, inquiring us if we had stolen their glasses.

Needless to say we got quite upset and I don't see who wouldn't. After offering to show the contents of our bags (no glassware inside obviously, mine doesn't even fit anything besides my wallet) we left.

My first instinct was to write a review here, which I did and then deleted the first thing in the morning in order to give this place a chance to explain themselves or perhaps even apologize.

I reached out via IG DM and guess what these classy people did? They blocked me 🤡

I see there's no chance to actually reply the obnoxious answer I got from the owner (who by the way seems to only have replies with bad attitude for anyone who's had a bad experience). Hence, I am adding my reply here as a follow up.

It's quite naive of YOU to think that you can call someone a thief and not get a middle finger back. This happened at the end of the discussion with your staff by the way, after we had initiated showing our bags and did not get an apology. I really don't know what you would expect after this kind of treatment? Would you rather we stayed there on that doorway forever, locked in this situation where we are accused of...

Cocktailbar oder Restaurant? Irgendwie trifft beides zu. Wobei der Barcharakter alleine durch die riesige Auswahl an Drinks und die sehr laute und dröhnende Musik deutlich überwiegt - auch wenn die restliche Einrichtung eher an ein Speiselokal erinnert. Die Auswahl an Speisen ist eher klein, klingt aber sehr gut. Auch wenn ich das typisch kreolische darin nicht erkannt habe. Die Auswahl ist aber trotzdem schwer gefallen! Um mir einen besseren Eindruck zu verschaffen, wollte ich gerne die gemischte Vorspeisenplatte testen. Für 2 Personen eine gute Portion und ein recht hoher Preis. Die Wahl ist trotzdem gut gewesen. Datteln mit Oliven gefüllt im Speckmantel - wow, die waren perfekt. Zarte Datteln, knuspriger Speck - toll! Hausgemachten vegetarischen Frühlingsrollen - die waren gut Hühnchensaté mit Erdnusssauce - Fleisch super zart und saftig, für meinen Geschmack aber zu blass und die Erdnuss-Sauce war ok Garnelenschwänze im Sesamteig gebacken - mega saftig und lecker Asiatischer Ananas-Mandelsalat mit Hühnchen - wow, die Portion war recht groß und zudem sehr gut abgeschmeckt und tolle Konsistenz. Auch hier das Fleisch wieder ganz zart und saftig. Insgesamt für die Platte aber 24€ - heftig!

Als Hauptgang habe ich lange geschwankt zwischen dem Lammfilet und dem Oktopus Salat. Blöder Fehler. Egal wo ich bisher Oktopus bestellt habe, ich bekam immer ganze Arme serviert. Nicht aber hier. Hier bekam ich ihn in kleine Stücke geschnitten. Wäre dieser ganz zart gewesen, hätte ich da noch drüber hinweg sehen können, auch wenn das optisch alles andere als ansprechend ausgesehen hat. Lange Geschichte, kurze Wiedergabe: Ich habe den Teller zurückgehen lassen und brauchte dann nicht zu bezahlen. Eine Entschuldigung oder die Frage ob ich etwas anderes möchte, gab es aber leider nicht. Trotzdem war der Service insgesamt sehr nett und freundlich. Ich kam dann noch in den Genuss Surf & Turf "Asian Style" zu probieren, was sehr gut abgeschmeckt war. Die geschmackliche Krönung war aber das Lammfilet... wow! Preis hierfür 19,50€. Preislich war das Ganze also eher weiter oben angesiedelt. Allerdings fand ich die Qualität auch überdurchschnittlich (bis auf den Oktopus). Zwischenzeitlich bin ich nochmals hier gewesen und konnte mich so auch ein wenig durch die Cocktailkarte probieren. Ich muss sagen: Die Preise sind nicht gerade als Schnäppchen zu bezeichnen, ich fand aber die Cocktails (die meisten 10,50€) wirklich sehr gut! Alleine für das Lamm würde ich wieder hergehen und natürlich um mal einen guten Cocktail...

Our favorite place in Munich . Cocktail list is long and everything is amazing. Food is great too, yesterday we tried Burrata and beets salad, tuna ceviche, beef tartar, fried prawns, octopus salad and cheese cake . Highly recommend tuna ceviche, beef tartar and octopus salad. Cheese cake was amazing too and the texture is not a regularly cheese cake . This was not our first time there … on previous occasions, also tried Asian surf & turf and tandoori chicken. Really a great cocktail bar (drinks with passion) and fusion restaurant.
