Firstly, you can only book online as the restaurant wants your credit card details in the event that you cancel...they will charge you 25 euros per person if you cancel...there is also a strict dress code that's stipulated on the website...we were not warmly greeted on arrival...the hostess unsmilingly led us to our table...the restaurant is well designed & warm...it was very full & buzzing so not your intimate type of restaurant but more informal music beats & bar type setup...there is a 2nd level that has more seating...the seats are comfortable...the service by our waiter was quick & efficient but also very cold...we ordered pizzas from around 15 euros to 22 euros...the pizzas were not bad with a large crust leftover as can be seen from the pics...it's enough for 1 person do'nt think it's enough for 2...it's not the best pizza but it's ok...the base is thin & toppings ok...in summing up it appeals more to the younger crowd with the vibrancy & noise level etc...the hostess needs to smile & be more polite...the waiters need to be more warm & not standoffish...otherwise a nice place for drinks & meals...

Sophisticated interior, with high ceilings chandeliers, cozy couches and a bar stand right in the middle of a main hall. Full on Friday night, when one wants to reserve - sitting at the table until 20:00 is limited to 2 hours + you need to put in a card to complete the booking. My risotto with asparagus and seafood was delicious, so was pornstar martini and truffle pasta I had during other visit - so food-wise „a go“ for me. Avoid ordering Bellinis though. Attentive and very friendly service, but quite on a slower side, we waited for a table despite reservation, then waited for menus and it took overall an hour to order, get the drinks and mains. It was extremely hot in the hall (I suppose due to the pizza-baking area) and by surprise staff also closed the windows despite us trying to open them for some fresh air. Overall a solid 4, as I believe „elevated experience“ is not completely there despite the overall vibe.

Well, honestly we did expect more from this very hipped and famous restaurant in Munich. Unfortunately, we left the place very disappointed. On the positive side, they gave us, let’s say, a good table on the upper floor that looks straight down into the heart of the restaurant, so above the bar. The thing was, that we were five and the table is definitely suitable only for four people. Otherwise, there was just not enough place for all the dishes and the drinks for everyone sitting at the table. The service … well, our waiter came and left us the menus and then didn’t show up for 20 mins. He actually took the order of the table opposite of ours, even though these people came after us and had only drinks! When ordering, he explained to us that there is a salad as a side dish to the steak. It turned out that it was just a rocket. Not only that all the dishes are already broken, as you can see in the photos, but they brought us an additional mistaken side dish, so we ended up having to take the extra side dish and of course paying for it! The food itself was very disappointing. Way too expensive for the taste. Firstly, every single dish we got, was already cold and secondly, the steaks were a bit burned for medium … What we really liked were the drinks. They are reasonably priced and they are tasty. Nevertheless, it was a bit difficult to order a second or even a third drink, since the waiter didn’t come to show us the expected attention. If you aim to just visit a schicki-micki place, that is the right place for you

My boyfriend and I went to Gigi as a pre-valentines date. The Good: The deco, the detailed touches like the plates and designs, combined with the music creates a great atmosphere. My one quip is that they should reduce the amount of seating. Since it’s a popular restaurant, they maximized the space which means people were seated in awkward corners (like us, next to the fire hydrant) or even right against the stairs or the main door. The service was also attentive and professional. The Bad: The appetizers were very good and beautifully presented (picture) But unfortunately, the main meal ruined it. We ordered a steak and fries (39€ + 6,50€) and 1. The fries were frozen, you can get better from McDonald’s actually. 2. The presentation of the steak was shocking (see picture). Just a red slab of meat on a giant plate without even garnish. We informed our server about it as well. Good thing it tasted good. The pasta also was underwhelming. Too much cream, little salt. Safe to say, it’s unfortunate when the main meal destroys the rest of the dinner. We didn’t have the heart to order dessert after. For this reason, I am unsure if I would come back. Maybe just for cocktails.

tl;dr: food was pretty good, but there were some hiccups. It was a Wednesday, and the place was PACKED. Our table was not ready on time (5 mins late, not a big deal by itself) and we had to stand in a cramped area with guests and servers bumping against us constantly :/. It's kind of a stressful start to your experience before you're even seated. Our group ordered mainly pasta dishes, and one person ordered a pizza. All dishes looked nice, and the ones I tried tasted great (especially the pizza, I must say). Portions for the pasta dishes were not excessively big, so plenty of space left for dessert. Sweet-wise, I ordered the Gigi's [word I cannot insert in my review or it gets flagged], which consists of chocolate mousse, lava cake, and fior di latte ice cream. A very good combo. I don't think I would have minded it not including the mousse though. Lava cake was melty inside, which I always love. Servers were nice, happy to talk to the group in English to accommodate non-German (or Italian) speakers. We did not wait long for our food in spite of the place being full. I wanna return to try the pizza, but I will try and pick a date when they are not so packed, lol

Recently visited Gigi Trattoria in Munich and was thoroughly impressed! The interior exudes charm and warmth, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The menu boasts authentic Italian cuisine, and every dish we tried was a delight. The Aubergine Lasagne was rich and flavorful, the Simple Pizza Margarita with Burata melted in the mouth, and the Beef Tartar with truffles was exquisitely seasoned. The Olives and Haselnut Tiramisu rounded off the meal perfectly. As Negroni aficionados, we were excited by the variety on offer, with the white Negroni being a standout - light and refreshing. An amusing highlight was the 'escape room' adventure to find the restrooms, a unique and memorable touch. The service deserves a special mention too - attentive and swift. Gigi is definitely a gem in Munich's culinary scene!
