Went there for lunch, because it got praised on some websites for its affordable and tasty lunch. The place is quite pretty and well decorated with a glass vitrine displaying fish and other seafood, which at first glance looked okay. About the freshness you could expect from seafood in Munich. The waiter was a quite cold towards us when we came in and that didn't change through the whole experience.

Be careful! On their website they advertise with lunch menus starting at 9 or 10 €, but in reality that is only accurate for one dish. All the other dishes on the so called "lunch" menu were at least a couple euros more expensive.

We got the fish soup and the grilled loup de mer. The only thing worthy to praise were the mussels in the tiny bowl of fish soup, which were quite fresh. The loup de mer was not fresh at all! The meat was already starting to turn mushy and didn't have the typical slightly tighter consistency of fresh grilled fish. Personally for me the fish soup for 17€ was way too small of a portion and the meat of the single sad shrimp in there was mushy too, which speaks of its freshness. To top it all off, the bowl of vegetables, which they served with the grilled fish had a very strange taste when I first started eating it. Later on the foul taste got stronger and I found a rotten piece of greens mixed into the bowl, which spread its foul odor onto the other vegetables.

When I notified the waited about it and asked him to try smelling the bowl, he took it away without any apologies or communication. He also tried to give us a new bowl, but all my appetite was lost after consuming some rotten pieces of greens. I had to repeatedly try to get a waiter to come, so I could talk about the impudence of serving rotten food whilst having quite hefty prices for it. After around 20 minutes I finally got the attention of the other waiter and told him about what happened. He then proceeded to talk to the kitchen staff and came back telling us that they would cut the fish from the bill. When I tried to tell him about my discontent, all I received was a cold shoulder and we basically got ignored. Probably because they didn't want to have a scene and have them using subpar ingredients exposed. We then proceeded to pay our bill and left angrily.

All in all I wouldn't recommend anyone going there, be it for...

Pescheria sits off on a charming side street in a busy neighborhood in Munich, and has some of the best food I have eaten outside of Italy itself. Sit outside, especially if the weather is pleasant, but no need to fret, they have a fabulous outdoor patio that has blowers to keep you warm.

Start off the order with a dozen juicy Gillardeaux Oysters if you are a fan, and how can you visit an Italian restaurant and not order Negroni! I can only highly recommend what I ordered, but I can say that everyone at our table thoroughly enjoyed their meal.

The Risotto Mare with fresh mixed seafood was delicious, the risotto was cooked to perfection with a slight bite, and so full of flavor that the seafood would not have been missed. Mussels, shrimp, calamari, and fish make this a very filling meal, and no need to worry the seafood is not overcooked and still shines as a star in this dish.

Now, for those of you who are a bit sensitive to black pepper, this dish has lots of black pepper, so you might want to ask them to go a bit light or avoid it completely depending on your level of tolerance. Though I like black pepper, it makes me sneeze uncontrollably while I am eating. While this isn’t a problem, it is a bit unnerving at a table with others eating, but I wouldn’t have had the dish except for the way it was prepared.

No, there was no room for dessert, the portion size was large and with a small salad and fresh bread, I was completely satisfied to sit and enjoy the scenery as the sun began to set. The staff here is very friendly, the manager was excited to give us a tour, especially when he heard one at our table was also a restaurant owner. We discussed the trials of a restaurant surviving the pandemic as well the changes in types of customers during Oktoberfest versus other times of the year. So guys, Pescheria is a winner in my book, all around great experience.

If you find yourself in Munich with a hankering for some Italian food that is full of the freshest ingredients and simple preparations that make each dish spectacular, check out Pescheria!...

What did I just ate? Busiate? Ancelin oysters? Seafood pasta with pistachio?? And of cse .. World class Gillardeaux oysters?

It's everything above! I always appreciated Gillardeaux oysters (no 2) but in my country (Singapore), that comes at a premium cost and we don't get that very often either. They definitely didn't disappoint and at 16.50€ for 3. Combine that with that plump juicy, oystery freshness, I wished I had more... Infact I was contemplating if I shd get more while waiting for my main. And yeah... They also have this Ancelin oysters... Also from France I was told. The shell is smaller, but the meat fills the entire shell, which matters more! Slightly less briny and at 13.50€ for 3, this is good value! And then come my weird looking pasta. I apologies for my ignorance but I have never seen anything like that in my county or even in Italy. It's like long but THICK pasta in a thick greenish brown sauce??! Doesn't even look tasty... BUT... It is!!! Infact, I rank this the best 2 seafood pasta I ever had in my life. It has all these little greens chopped mixed with some seafood tasting Sauce and I believe olive oil and most strangely to me, pistachios!! It was wonderful... Too good and unique to describe how it taste like! And the monk fish in the pasta... If they were alive, my fish tank would be FULL... There's so much of them! And of cse, the 2 scampi... The main reason why I ordered this... And they were lovely... I wish there were more. I didn't quite like the tomatoes though... And the cold bread that came with the oysters. But they were so negligible to an almost perfect meal! I wish I live ard this area so I can come back again for everything plus everything else I see people ordering.

Taking into account this is at a less touristy area, being almost full on a Tuesday night, thats impressive.

Overall, I like to give this a full 10 out of 10, but the bread and the tomatoes, let's just say 9.75 is a fair score! So good .. my mouth is still lingering with that as I leave this happy place! Life is indeed good when u...

Food was good. My wife had pasta but the prawns were way overcooked. My risotto was decent as well but definitely not a proper risotto. Rice undercooked and sauce watery. Wine selection was great and service started off top tier. There was a table next to us with 2 kids on their iPads with headphones who the parents neglected who were obnoxiously loud and disruptive. Not the restaurants fault. We made a comment to the server and he laughed it off. Their poor behaviour made for a poor experience. We tried to block it out but apparently their experience was more important than ours. We mentioned to another server who brought our deserts that the experience was definitely ruined by the poor behaviour and then we didn’t see another server for the rest of the night… Parents. Please be parents and don’t let a device do the job for you and ruin other people’s nights. Restaurants. At least have the decency to try to take your customers comments to heart and do something to make the experience better for them. Because they won’t come back and although they are tourists and you think that’s ok, they might take to Google and let everyone know how poorly situations are handled by you.
