We stayed at this hotel during our visit to Munich and loved it. The hotel is ideally situated being close to the main touristy area Marionplatz. Also, an easily walkable distance from the two main train stations Karlsplatz and Hauptbahnhof. Outside are the main tram routes which take you to all areas in Munich. Even the English Garden on the other side of Marionplatz is reachable by walking. The reception was manned 24hrs, serving a continental breakfast every morning and bowls of food (think ramen like but healthy) during the day and a bar behind the reception. The hotel was clean and tidy, and the receptionist (Nadia) on entering was polite, spoke great English and explained all about the hotel. Thanks to Nadia, booking in was made very easy. In fact, all the hotel staff made our stay very welcome, a credit to the establishment. You had to register with an email as the doors worked by accessing an electronic app through your email. We were in room 65, block C, electronic access to get into the block, then electronic access into your room. Easy to use. Our room was spacious, with two single beds joined together to form a double, en suite and a small kitchen in a cupboard with a sink, fridge, cooker and a microwave. The TV was all in German (channel 206 is the fishing channel). There was plenty of cupboard space for your clothes and coffee making facilities below the TV. We were informed at check-in that laundry and towels would only be replaced by request. The rooms were warm and also had air con and a safe at no extra charge. The shower was fantastic, warm and powerful. The area surrounding the hotel felt safe and relatively quiet. Although it might be a bit intimidating for women along Landwehrstr heading West as there were groups of men hanging about, especially at night. This area is patrolled by the Police and the local Community patrols. They look like Police but are unarmed and have KVR written on the back of their vests. We were in a group of two men and two women and did not get any hassle. But like any big city, keep to the main streets and dont walk alone at night and you will be ok. I can highly recommend...
Read moreWe just checked out of this property and I felt like I needed to write this review because I did look on Trip Advisor before our recent stay and it did not get great reviews, so I wanted to share my experience.||We had a 3 bedroom apartment and it was quite nice. 2 full bathrooms, a small kitchen with a refrigerator (no freezer) and a small washing machine (no dryer). The third bedroom is actually the living room where the bed is actually the couch but it was fine for our youngest kiddo. This is the only reason for the 4 star and not 5 star review for me. I was disappointed that it was misleading to call it a 3 bedroom when it’s really 2. ||The weather in Munich was quite cool and mild while we were here so we didn’t really need the air conditioning but I will say the AC did work quite well. I understand there was a heat wave in Munich in June and the AC couldn’t keep up which I totally understand- we didn’t have this problem because the weather was beautiful while we were here.||Lucas at the front desk had an incredible depth of knowledge and recommended all wonderful restaurants and timing to get to the train station. ||We also had some small issues with the room but you simply put a ticket in and they take care of it on the same day so no complaints there either.||The location is fantastic! Only a few blocs from Marienplatz, you can be in the center of all the action in a few minute walk and there is an Aldi about 3 blocks away so you can get some breakfast foods and fruit for a few euro, versus doing the relatively expense breakfast at the hotel. ||Overall, for the cost and space, I would definitely stay here again and reccomend it. It was a nice property and we had an...
Read moreWe had a great stay here! Check-in time was later than ideal for an international flight arriving early morning, but we were able to freshen up in a restroom, store our bags in an holding room, and come back later in the day to check-in. As we were there for two weeks, we really appreciated being placed in a room away from traffic and elevator noise. Including daily breakfast with our reservation was a wise choice. Highly recommended! Great, fresh food choices (real eggs) and it makes starting the day much easier than having to go hunting down food in the city first thing. We especially appreciated having laundry/ironing facilities onsite. That, plus functioning AC are enough of a reason to book here again on future stays! Location is convenient to transportation and most center city sites are easily walkable within 10-15 mins. The one thing that was a tad annoying was the web/phone-based building and room keys. That was never particularly convenient to access. Regardless, the staff were super friendly and helpful. Ordering fresh towels, additional TP, an extra pillow, room cleaning service, or a taxi to the airport when needed was also simple. Be advised - the taxi to the airport cost us €130 for two people which seemed a bit steep for our budget. From what I could tell, the place is well suited to family travelers if that’s what you are looking for. We’d definitely book here again! Thanks for...
