SAM - sushi and meat Westend — Restaurant in Munich

Great food (when you do not like original japansse but fusion), not really a fan of it but I still can understand what they tried to aim with the bjg table in the middle where you have to sit next to your friend but not really opposite your friend. I am actually a fan of SAM even if the food is bit more expensive for its quality but as long as it is their strategy, it is fine. But for the service in this location, I am very disappointed. We called and asked for a table at the window. The staff was likd "sure, you will get a table at the window." but when we arrived for our reservation, we were able to see people just got served their drinks which means they also just arrived. When we mentioned our wish, the staff was just like "oh, for now we do not have a table at the window but once something is free, you can sit there." For a normal restaurant not even an over-priced one like SAM, I actually expected that they will keep the specific table free for the reservation but not just gambling on it. Or at least they shouldn't have promised the table at the window. Really...

I repost my new rate, because my old rate was 2 years ago and the quality of Ramen is better than before. Ramen with meet is good, pork berry meet is very soft and melt in your mouth. The soup is not so intensiv but still good.

"old commend" I know that my rate against Japanese restraint in Germany is severe because I’m Japanese, but there are a lot of better Japanese restraint in Munich , like Kushi-tei , Takumi , and Shoya etc. And real good restraint is always full of the guest , who come from that country. We ordered Ramen , Sashimi and Karaage, the worst was Ramen , that soup was too much water and tasted really nothing. I’m very sorry for the people who doesn’t know well what exactly real Japanese Ramen is and tested that bad one as a very first experience. I have been around many Japanese restaurants in Munich, both as a guest and waiter, and I must say: This place exceeded my expectations. The concept is unique: The space is not too big. You sit on crate with cushion. The wallpaper is covered with Japanese newspapers... and the menu offers a great range of traditional food (such as Sashimi and the classic Sushi) and even Tonkotsu Ramen, but also creative dishes such as Sushi fusion rolls. Furthermore, you find many traditional Japanese drinks, especially Suntory and Nikka Whiskey. The prices are relatively reasonable compared to other places, the staff is very friendly, babies and children are welcomed and you can feel the familiar atmosphere.
