The Italian Shot — Restaurant in Munich

Bottom line was the waitress was extremely rude and I'd never go back for that reason. We were so excited to try this place, the space was nice and clean, the candles were romantic, and the food looked quite good. It had come recommend by an app we'd downloaded called Spotted By Locals.

We ordered a pizza and I took the first bite. The flavors were good, but the dough itself was not quite cooked through and I got a texture that seemed sandy to me...something that should not have been in the pizza that I was afraid was glass. I called the waitress over to let her know there was something sandy in the pizza. She looked at me like I was crazy, asked me what she was supposed to do about it and offered to take a bite to prove it was OK (very strange offer lol). I told her that we were not comfortable eating the pizza, asking her if there was anything she thought it might be. Her only answer seemed to be that I was imagining whatever was wrong with it...I asked for it to be remade. She took it and stormed away and didn't return to our table, until I called her over 30 minutes later to ask if she had just canceled the pizza or what. She responded huffily that yes she had and I asked for the check and we left hungry.

The last piece here was just a miscommunication I think, her english was not great and I don't speak german. They did refund us for the pizza but I left feeling as though I had done something awful for no reason! We realized later it was likely just a piece of walnut shell (it was a pizza with walnuts in it). If she had thought that through with me I'd probably have been happy to just have eaten it. But why bring the emotion in and make a guest feel horrible?

I definitely would...

The quality and freshness of the pizzas here is absolutely unquestionable. It's remarkable that they have a good variety of vegan options. Now, in the two times I've been in this place, something called our attention. We made a reservation with an app which garantied us 30% discount on the general bill (I am attaching the picture as proof). The first time, the waiter discounted us only 20%. We said nothing because wanted to give him 'the benefit of the doubt', also a good tip, and come back another day to see if the mistake didn't happen again. As you can see by the picture of the bill I'm attaching, it seems it was no mistake; they were clear that the discount was a 30, but still did it again and kept 10% of the price of each product purchased. It was quite dissapointing for us that they tricked us in our faces that way again; it is obviously not about this tiny amount of money, but of moral/human values what we are talking about in here. Maybe this post will reach the right people and this experience won't repeat again with others or ourselves when we are craving their delicious...

Leider war unser besuch im Italian Shot sehr bescheiden. Wir hatten dort reserviert auf empfehling einer Touristenseite, auf der es hoch gelobt wurde. Da wir über Silvester in München verblieben dachten wir das es doch eine gute idee sei dies am Silvesterabend zu tun. Die reservierung etc. klappte auch wunderbar. Und im Restaurant angekommen wurde uns auch gleich unser Tisch zugewiesen. Wir saßen allerdings noch keine 30 sekunden, da wurde uns schon gesagt das wir nur 2 stunden zeit hätten und danach gehen müssten mit einer recht bestimmenden Ton. Da wir locker drauf sind legten wir diese bemerkung nicht gleich auf die Goldwaage und fuhren fort mit unserem besuch. Wir suchten uns also unsere speißen aus der Karte raus und ein Junger mann kam und fragte uns was wir denn nun essen wollen würden. Nun die Pizza die wir dann bestellen wollten könne mann uns nicht machen da die zutaten aus seien weil es im neuen jahr eine neue Karte geben würde. Mann bot uns dann an doch einen anderen belag zu wählen. Darauf hin frugen wir dan ob wir noch einen moment zum überlegen haben könnten. Mann bedenke bis dato hatten wir noch kein einziges getränk und waren schon gut 15min vor Ort. Nach weiteren 15 min kam der mitarbeiter den endlich wieder zu uns und fragte ob wir jetzt fündig geworden sind und ob wir gerne was zu trinken haben wollen würden. Wir bestellten zwei Moscow Mule. Diese kamen auch recht zügig. Was mich allerdings irritierte war das in jedem der becher ein abgebrochener Holzspieß lag ohne jene funktion und kleine Holz stückchen im becher trieben. Irgendwann kamm dan die heiß begehrte Pizza. Was soll ich sagen. Durchschnitt. Nicht besonderes könnte genau so gut aus einem Vapiano stammen. Einziger plus punkt war das sie wirklich groß war. Jetzt kommt allerdings der punkt der mich sehr gestört hat und meiner meinung nach einfach wieder spiegelt um was es dort wirklich geht um profit. Und zwar durch die größe bekam meine begleitung die Pizza nur zur hälfte auf. Darauf hin baten wir die bedienung uns diese doch ein zu packen. Alles kein problem, kurz darauf bekamen wir einen kleinen handlichen karton. Ich sehe den Karton und bin verblüft wie er die große pizza dort rein bekommen hat. Vermute wohl möglich in stücke. Wir zahlten und gingen zurück ins Hotel. Einige stunden später verspürte ich wieder hunger und wollte mich an der eingepackten Pizza bedienen. Was soll ich sagen, das war wohl ein schuss in den Ofen. Die Pizza war mit liebevoller gewallt in origamietechnik fein säuberlich in den karton gefaltet worden auf eine art und weise das sie danach nicht mehr vernünftig zu essen war da der gesammte belag zu einem einheitsbrei zusammen gedrückt worden war.

Fazit: Wenn wir aufgrund eines Meteoriten einschlages beim betreten des restaurans gestorben wären hätten wir...
