Restaurant Palast der Winde — Restaurant in Munich

I believe I am a well-travelled connoisseur of the various Indian cuisines; and I can only praise this restaurant for the quality of the food.

Authentic flavours throughout - from the chicken tikka as a starter, which was juicy and with the perfect mix of spices. Definitely the best I had in an Indian restaurant outside India !

Our main courses were chicken biryani and chicken tikka massala. Again, we were amazed by the rich flavours that very few restaurants have to offer outside of India. These are typically the 2 dishes that enable you to rate an Indian restaurant, and they passed the test with flying colours.

All in all, exquiste Punjabi-style dishes offering the real taste of Northern Indian cuisine. I can only recommend this property, and especially its kitchen brigade to Indian...

Friendly and accommodating staff and a very popular place with the locals who are looking for their curry fix. On weeknights especially in the cold months you need a reservation. But in terms of authenticity of taste, texture etc, it is unsatisfactory but then I am yet to find an Indian restaurant in Munich that is authentic. For that matter I haven't found one in the West so far, in two decades. If you don't know what I am talking about, then ignore this review and try the restaurant, you will probably like it. I like the name and I like the staff. Does that mean I won't go again? Honestly, I probably will because sometimes I am in the neighbourhood, starving and accompanied by strict vegetarians. And even mediocre Indian vegetarian food is far better than bad...

I thought the food was pretty good. Lots of taste and they have many vegan and vegetarian options, which I greatly appreciated.

But the staff was rude and they did not make us feel welcome at all. The waiter was very impatient and walked away while I was talking to him. When I called him back, he ignored me. The rest of the evening we did not enjoy any personal attention whatsoever and all the staff seemed pretty cranky. I tried to ask for a spoon but no one looked at our table the whole evening. After paying, they bring you some kind of schnapps, atleast that what we saw at other tables. He brought a tray of schnapps to our table when I requested the bill, but when the waiter saw I did not leave a tip, he took the tray away...
