Albrecht-Dürer-Stube — Restaurant in Nuremberg

Thank you for a very nice evening! Kudos to Matthias, our server. The service, food and wine recommendations were excellent. We had the special (pork shoulder) plus the day's special, quarter duck and they were both very tender and delicious. Their red cabbage salad side was also excellent, I left wishing I would know their secret 5 spices. There are some traditional vegetarian mains too, so vegetarians do not despair! We went for a Franconian dry red wine recommended by our server and we loved it. As a dessert we delighted ourselves with their gingerbread chocolate mousse. We would recommend you book ahead, the place is not very big. We didn't have a reservation on a December Wednesday evening for 2, but they were very amenable and they mentioned that if we call later we might find a table. We came at 7pm without a reservation and they were kind enough to fit us in, asking us to come back at 8pm.

It’s a small quaint local restaurant with traditional Franconian food. There are a lot of framed embroidery on all the walls that add to the charm of this local spot. The embroidery framed in front of our table said to eat and drink without worry (trink und iss sorgenvergiss) and we followed the instructions well.

We ordered the special oven roast pork with dumplings and red cabbage and somehow had room for apple fritters and warm plums for dessert. The pork was AMAZING - tender, with crispy skin, and the potato dumpling was light and fluffy and the red cabbage was also the perfect complement to the meal. Apple fritters were crispy and chewy and the warm plum was also delish.

Wanted to update our review from our previous visit to returning today! Albrecht-Dürer-Stube has not skipped a beat! The atmosphere, the service, the food, were all TOP notch and absolutely wonderful!!! Was as great as we remembered it from 2019 and just loved everything. We may have come to Nürnberg for the Christkindlesmarket but we weren't going to miss a chance to have such a wonderful experience at Albrecht-Dürer-Stube!!!

From October 2019: Simply incredible... Wonderful meal that you just can't really explain it prepare for. Just know you'll enjoy one of the best, if not the best Franconian German food, delicious from beginning to end.
