I ate at Cairo Chefs today and it was seriously good. Everything felt real. The flavors were strong, deep and full of life. The place smelled like grilled meat, garlic and spices the second I walked in. It felt like home even if I had never been there before.
I had their kofta with saffron rice. The meat was juicy with a perfect crust, the rice was soft and the tahina sauce was creamy, a bit tangy and really tasty. Not too spicy but a nice heat that stayed in my mouth for a while.
I also tried their koshari. It was a mix of lentils, pasta, rice, tomato sauce and crispy onions. Sounded weird at first but tasted amazing. Crunchy, soft, sour and full of spice all at once.
Drank cold hibiscus tea which went really well with the food. Sweet and refreshing.
The staff was kind and helpful. They explained the dishes and how people usually eat them. Everything felt made with care and pride.

Read moreFrom the moment I walked into Cairo Chefs, I felt like I had stepped into a little corner of Egypt. The ambience is warm, welcoming, and authentically Egyptian, setting the perfect stage for what turned out to be a fantastic meal. The staff are incredibly friendly, they make you feel like a guest in their home, not just a customer. The food is absolutely delicious. Every dish tasted exactly like it does back in Egypt, rich flavors, fresh ingredients, and that unmistakable homemade quality you only find in the best local spots in Cairo or Alexandria. I highly recommend it and will be back...
Read moreI read in the local newspaper that a new Egyptian restaurant had opened so just had to visit and give it a try and I wasn’t disappointed! Although it was a very late lunch, the staff were really attentive and helped make sure I enjoyed my meal.
I ordered hawawshi, served with chips and tasty side dishes of baba ghanoush as well as a cucumber, yoghurt and mint dip. It was delicious! I decided that a tall glass of cool refreshing karkadeh (hibiscus) would be perfect in the hot weather to accompany the meal and indeed it was.
I’ll definitely return soon to try out more...
