Amazing food! I’m still thinking about it 2 months later. My fiancé and I were visiting the castle and Albrecht Dürer's House during our trip and needed to have lunch. After a mini search, Wirtshaus Hutt’n popped up as open and a local favorite that was in walking distance to both places.
What we didn’t know was that reservations are typically needed here. One of the managers was kind enough to seat us anyway, while giving us a little history of the restaurant and informing us of the popularity locally.
We order the bratwurst variety plate, a large salad, one non-alcoholic beer and local favorite beer (red) that was recommended by the manager. After receiving our food, we quickly learned why this restaurant was so popular! Not only is the service fantastic and hospitable but the food was beyond delicious.
The bratwurst is juicy and flavorful combined with fresh horseradish and mustard with a side of potato salad and sauerkraut. The large salad was fresh, crispy, the herb raspberry dressing to help offset the heaviness of the sausages. Wish we could have gone back again before leaving but it was our last day. We heard the pork shoulder is also a favorite. Definitely recommend trying when in...
Read moreIf you are planning on going here the atmosphere and the food is honestly 5 stars. I have always had a good time/dinner here previously, however the one star is for the customer service. On Saturday we had reservations at 8:30pm, our waitress was impatient from the start. My friends and I are a mixed group some German, some Brazilian, American etc. Between my friend and I we were speaking Spanish to one another, however when ordering we spoke German. The waitress automatically started speaking Spanish which is fine, however she ignored our german and continued to ask the same questions about what we wanted after the fact we continued to order in GERMAN. She then made animal noises for us to decide what kind of meat my friend wanted, literally oinked out loud causing the table next to us to laugh. It was pretty ridiculous to humiliate people at a restaurant, where they pay for the service. It's a shame it is too hard to customer service without being rude. She then continued to ignore us and the whole experience was awkward we couldn't eat fast enough to get...
Read moreWe were on vacation in Nuremberg for the Christmas Market. One of our plans was to drink German beer in a German restaurant. We went to the Wirthaus Hüttn. Since it was a spontaneous plan, the staff at the door made us wait for 10 minutes and told us that they could accommodate us between 19:00 and 20:00. We waited 10 minutes at the door and then they took us to a table where several customers could sit at the same time and we ordered our beer and pommes. The staff who took the order told us that we couldn't sit at the table if we weren't going to eat, but there were no empty seats at the bar. I don't think an employee at the door whose only job is to seat incoming customers at tables should make a superior effort. They should have told us at the beginning that they could take us to the bar if we did not want to eat. We explained this and said that their behavior was not nice, in return their attitude towards us became even more rude. I definitely do not...
