We came here with 6 people for a business dinner and were not disappointed!

Having pre-booked due to a large exhibition being held nearby we were shown directly to our seats. The service was with a smile and quick as well as efficient. I ordered Spargel (Asparagus), a very traditional seasonal dish just with butter. Note that German Spargel is white and not meant to be cooked al dente (as I overheard some Americans complain that they were overcooked). Unlike their green cousins they are not meant to have a crunch and for me (seasoned Spargel eater) they were perfectly sweet and delicious. This was followed by an entrecôte type rib steak with roast potatoes and a nice hearty salad. The prices for mains are around 20 Euro but there are cheaper things on the menu too. I'm sure we'll be back again next time.

The atmosphere is cosy and casual in this beautiful old building.

Seating is traditional wooden benches and chairs with cushions.

My only tiny complaint would be that the waitress passes you your cutlery (& plates) rather than placing them on the table for you but it was a particularly busy night and due to the corner bench not easy to get in.

Food was...

This is a traditional Franconian restaurant near the Albrecht Duerer Haus in Nuremburg. Opening hours are 12pm to 11pm (Wed to Sun), 5pm to 11pm (Mon and Tues). There are multiple floors with indoor seating as well as outdoor seating used during warmer weather.

Interior is decorated in traditional manner, menu features an expected range of local and traditional dishes. During our lunch here we shared a plate of 8 Nuremburg sausages with boiled potatoes and sauerkraut along with a couple different types of mustard. All tasted just fine. Service was polite, a bit slow at times as they served numerous tables. However, we didn't mind as we needed to warm up from the cold outside.

Overall, we found Zum Albrecht Duerer Haus to be a good place for lunch, not one of our favourite places tried during our visit to Nuremburg but...

Wandering around with a colleague through the streets of Nuremberg, I realized that even my extremely little German allowed me to read a sign on this restaurant. "Homemade bratwurst lasagna" Sounded pretty good but my friend seemed to have another place in mind. He didn't. After much wandering, we went back for the bratwurst. Turned out this was an incredible place to go on a Sunday. People gather on the sun-warmed stones in front, in the shadow or the castle to take-in live entertainment and picnic dinners. Brilliant. Food was incredible and they were serving Augustiner beer for Octoberfest.

Was there 2 weeks ago with my parents. This was their first German cuisine during their visit in Germany. Staff is incredible - very friendly and patient with big smile (not that usual in Franconia 😌). Food is amusing - best Schäufele (they offer a mini version) and potato dumplings I ever have since 7 years living in Germany. Atmosphere is modern yet classic. My parents fell in love with German cuisine after this experience! Highly recommend this restaurant to everyone especially who got disappointed with German food elsewhere - this place may change your view!
