We were here short after christmas. Great duck! great Knoedel! And the rosemary sauce....omg. It is the chrismas special, so I don't know if they will have it in other time. Anyways, was a nice experience. The food my boyfriend ordered was also big portion, big salad, taste is o.k. accordng to him. He said my duck was awesome but his meal was only nice. Oh, we sit on the stage part, I have to say, the long bench was kinda dangerous, the wood splatter poked through my stocking(I had thick, thermo one) and made a hole on it. I have to go to the rest room to take it out cuz it stuck inside the stocking and kept poking on my back thigh... Should be nicer if the furniture had took good care once in a while. But nice local place and recommend to go.

We stopped in for a late lunch after much walking around. It was warm enough to sit on the patio. We had dark lager and relatively light meals (compared to what I saw on other plates). My husband enjoyed the white sausage with a pretzel and sweet mustard. I had the bratwurst with sauerkraut, brown bread, and regular mustard. Both the bratwurst and sauerkraut were much better that what I've had in the USA. They were more flavorful, and the sauerkraut was not as acidic. This place has large indoor seating areas, and they do have menus in English.

Terrible restaurant! The food and the services were awful. I ordered a Schnitzel, which was the chef's special you would expect to be its highlight. Well, that's not the case. The Schnitzel was burned out. Even the one for the children. The cooking oil didn't seem to change for a good while, and the chef forgot the food there. They offered to replace but didn't trust them to have it another go. In the end, they had the nerve to ask us if we wanted to tip them. For what??? Their brilliant work to ruin our lunch? A BIG FAT NO!

The wait is one the worst that I have experienced! The staff are really nice, but the owner needs to get more staff to help. So if you don't like the wait too much, I don't recommend this. As for the food, I ordered goulash with bavarian dumplings, after a wait of 45 min at least I can say that the food was very good. Tasty. And I could see from other customers orders that they serve good food here. The menu is diverse. I gave it 3 stars because of the waiting involved.

I would give 2.5 stars. The restaurant is located in the old city center. Staff is friendly and fast. The food unfortunately is only mediocre. Some ingredients taste and look like they have been sitting around for too long (like some sausages for the Brotzeitbrett or the Spätzle). Warm dishes were quite salty, the Rahmschnitzel was rather bland in taste. Prices are acceptable for this, but as conclusion I would give less than 3 stars.

Wir hatten kürzlich die Gelegenheit, das Alte Bräuhaus in Passau zu besuchen. Mein Gesamteindruck war gut, wenn auch nicht herausragend. Die Atmosphäre im Gasthaus ist sehr angenehm, auch der außenbereich und die Lage in der Altstadt bieten einen schönen Blick auf die vorbeigehenden Menschen und den Verkehr – perfekt für alle, die gerne das Treiben beobachten. Das Essen, das wir bestellt hatten, war ausgezeichnet. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich den Oberpfälzer Schweinebraten mit Semmelknödel und Schwammerlsoße. Das Gericht war hervorragend zubereitet, und die Soße hat dem Ganzen das gewisse Etwas verliehen. Auch der Service war ein Highlight meines Besuchs. Der Kellner, der uns bediente, war nicht nur äußerst zuvorkommend, sondern auch sehr humorvoll und nahm sich Zeit für ein paar freundliche Scherze. Solch ein persönlicher und entspannter Service trägt erheblich zur positiven Atmosphäre bei. Alles in allem war es ein schöner Abend im Alten Bräuhaus. Es ist ein empfehlenswerter Ort, besonders wenn man gute bayerische Küche in einer gemütlichen Umgebung genießen möchte. Wir werden sicherlich wiederkommen.
