Walk the door and travel to Brittany! Soups, quiches and crepes (both savory and sweet) are on the menu, and they are all incredibly well balanced and delicious! Me and my wife shared an onion soup in 2 (we wanted to make sure we had enough room for the savory crepes) and it was very tasty, yet quote light. After that, we got a mushroom, fresh cheese and spring onions crepe, and a beef carpaccio one, with arugula, emmental cheese and balsamic vinegar - both fantastic. We had some of the cider, also from the Breton region, which was very good! We closed our lunch with a sugar crepe with vanilla ice cream to share: in its simplicity, it was fantastic. The service was nice, the place is warm and welcoming. They can speak both German and English, no problem! We highly recommend to book in advance - their website has a great booking service for that. The only suggestion: please mark the items on the menu, so it's easier to know what is and what is not vegetarian or vegan! Nothing big of course, but it would be greatly appreciated! We will come back soon! 😊

If you're looking for a cozy spot with a touch of French charm in the heart of Potsdam, Crêperie La Madeleine is a must-visit. This delightful eatery offers an authentic atmosphere with dark wooden beams, French bistro chairs, and a terrace shaded by old lime trees. The coffee here is a true pleasure – aromatic and served with great attention to detail. It's the perfect companion to the wide selection of crêpes. Service at Crêperie La Madeleine is excellent – the staff is kind, attentive, and fluent in both German and English. Crêperie La Madeleine is where French culinary tradition meets German hospitality – the ideal spot for anyone looking for delicious food and a pleasant atmosphere in Potsdam.

My recent visit to this crêperie in Potsdam was a mixed experience. The galettes, while decent, didn't stand out. The cheese used in the galettes was quite ordinary, lacking the distinct flavors one might expect from a crêperie. On a brighter note, the dessert was delightful. The moelleux au chocolat served with ice cream was a highlight, offering a rich and satisfying end to the meal. Overall, it's an okay spot for a casual meal, but there is room for improvement.

The food was good, I can't say it wasn't. However: I haven't eaten the entire dish (I had a 9.95 Euro crepe) and had around 1/3 as left overs. I asked to bag the leftovers so I could take it with me like I always do at other places because I always finish the dish an hour or so later. The waitress took the dish and I we waited for about 10 minutes. Then we called her again to pay and to ask where the dish was and she said she will bring it so we paid and continued waiting. After another 5 minutes we saw another waitress and I asked her about my dish and she looked at me as if she didn't understand why I was asking her and said she could ask for me (for me? It's her job, she is not doing me any favors). She never came back to me although I saw her going to other customers. Then I saw our waitress so I asked her again about my dish and she just said "Ah yes I'm sorry, I forgot and it was too late" - meaning they had thrown my dish away. Of course things like that happen, but to let me wait for 20 minutes and then just say I'm sorry? She should have made a new one and it doesn't matter how much I ate - I paid for the entire dish and I wanted my dish. She offered to get me a drink but I didn't want anything to drink and she understood I was very unsatisfied so she asked me what i ordered and went inside so I thought she would make me a new one. She then came back and said she couldn't get me a new one and to my dissatisfaction she replied - "but I said I was sorry". Yes you did, and I said I wanted my dish to be wrapped for take away! She called someone else (shift manager maybe?). The shift manager said they couldn't prepare a new one that was the size of what they threw away. Really???? Did she really say that?? Of course she can't, she should make a new one - that's how customer service works! It's not my fault they threw it away! Yes, I will "gain" a whole new meal but it is completely their fault so they need to pay for the mistake. Eventually I saw that there was literally no way for them to understand what real customer service is and after she offered a discount (I already paid, what would she have done - bring me 2 Euros back?) I just asked for a dessert instead. They were willing and prepared a 5 Euro chocolate banana crepe. I didn't actually want a dessert I just understood that they would rather lose a customer than to prepare a new crepe - how much would "all" those ingredients cost them (cheese and mushroom crepe)? So they prepared a chocolate banana crepe instead. Now if you compare the 2 crepes - is there really such a price difference for them in terms of what the restaurant pays for the ingredients? I guess not and I guess the 30 cent difference is more valuable than us as customers. Too bad because the food was pretty good, but I would not return there (live in Berlin and visit Potsdam quite a lot). To me service is a very big part when you go to a restaurant, otherwise you can just...

Alles in Ordnung.
